Each HOD guide has a pattern that becomes familiar.
We design each HOD guide with a pattern that becomes familiar to your students. As the pattern becomes familiar, your students will certainly know more clearly what the guide expects and what the plans require to complete assignments.
Knowing a guide’s pattern shortens work times.
Knowing the guide’s pattern and expectations basically helps your students do assignments in less time. As students move through the guide, the school day typically becomes shorter. Why? Well, students simply know the routine! Consequently, work takes less time to do!
As the guide progresses, your days will flow better, be shorter, and require less of you.
If you are starting a new guide that seems a bit challenging right now, don’t lose heart! If your child is well-placed in his/her guide, you will see improvement as your child progresses through the year. Your days will flow better, be shorter, and require less of you. When you draw near to the end of your official “school year” you’ll be surprised at how “easy” the guide seems.
One benefit of the guide’s pattern is a shorter school day!
A shortened school day as the year progresses is a huge blessing. Often the shortened days come at a time when many teachers (and students) are running out of steam. To see my boys clipping through their day and knowing what is expected is a joy! I pray it will be a blessing to you to see your kiddos finish strong and confident as well!
Blessings,
Carrie

My three grandchildren are 11, 10, 9. We placed them in Preparing together. This has worked really well. So I have grouped DITHOR, science, and history study at the same time. So one does Dithor, one does science and one does history. Then they switch. It goes well. On the 4th day science experiment, they all do it together. We are finally getting the pattern of it. Thank you.
This is so true! I’ve graduated 3 students now using HOD from beginning to end (with 7 to go!). No matter the learning style and different personalities, the students become familiar with the guides and by mid-year begin to fly through school. It truly is a blessing! HOD has a been a blessing to our family.
Currently our daughter is enrolled as a music major and has a 4.0 gpa, is on the dean’s list and honor society. She was able to CLEP out of all her freshman and sophomore English classes and gov’t. HOD prepared her well for college and life in general!
Congratulations on graduating 3 students, Jennifer! We count your family using HOD from start to finish as such a blessing. A key goal of ours in writing the guides was for all learning styles to be represented, so it’s great to hear you are seeing that and enjoying that aspect of the guides. Another key goal of ours was for guides to be written with a pattern that helped parents and students work more and more efficiently as the year progressed, as well as to become better and better at each skill. Last but not least, we hoped this patterning would cause your school days to get shorter as the year progressed! We are so happy to hear you are enjoying these aspects of the guide. Please give your daughter a big HOD hug and a hearty congratulations on her success in passing her CLEP tests and maintaining her 4.0 GPA – we are so proud of her!!! Thanks for sharing, Jennfer!
So glad you are enjoying the consistency and time saving aspect of the intended patterns of the guide, Bobbi! Have a good weekend!
