When invading Greeks destroy Uriah Tarhund’s Hititte home, his dying father tells him to go south to seek a Canaanite named Sisera. “He will help you. For my sake.”
Uriah plunges into the tumult of an uneasy Judea. When he saves a young boy from being sacrificed to the pagan god Moloch, the Hebrews give him succor for a time. Later, he finds Sisera and joins him in war against these same people. When the Hebrews defeat the Canaanites, the young Hittite comes to a peace with himself, the Hebrew people and their God.
This meticulously researched novel takes place in the time of Judges, and incorporates Biblical facts with a gripping story, set against the wide background of ancient civilizations.
