Around Town with Miss Rhonda
Around Town with Miss Rhonda contains six chapters, each focusing on a long vowel sound. The chapters tell real life stories of Miss Rhonda’s neighborhood. Book characters include from wild geese to beavers, from plunky goats to caterpillars. There is also a night the lights go out in a storm and a visit to a horse farm to meet a special pony.
Each 12 page story ends with a page of focus words. Miss Rhonda wrote this level two chapter book for children to read after Set 1, Set 2, and On the Farm. There is much opportunity for the child to practice long vowel words in a supportive setting while reading some exceptionally fun stories.
When beginning readers take their first tentative steps into the world of reading, it can be difficult to find easily decodable books that are also attractive and make sense. This collection of readers by Miss Rhonda accomplishes all these goals. Your children will certainly enjoy the look and feel of these books, as well as the success of reading them on their own.
