The Man Without a Country
Remember the old adage “Be careful what you ask for”? The Man Without a Country is the story of American Army lieutenant Philip Nolan, who renounces his country during a trial for treason. Consequently, the court sentences him to spend the rest of his days at sea without so much as a word of news about the United States.
- About the author: Samuel Langhorne Clemens (known by his pen name Mark Twain) was an American writer, humorist, entrepreneur, publisher, and lecturer. Critics praised him as the “greatest humorist the United States has produced”. His novels include The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and its sequel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884).
