Emerging Reader's Set

Each Emerging Reader’s Set provides a collection of well-loved books for your child to read aloud to you. Books gradually increases in difficulty throughout the year to strengthen your child’s reading ability. The Emerging Reader’s Set 1 is for children who have completed most of their phonics instruction and are at the early reader level. The Emerging Reader’s Set 2 is for children who can read beginning chapter books.

Independent readers who are easily reading chapter books are ready for Drawn into the Heart of Reading instead. You will learn more about Drawn into the Heart of Reading in Step 10.

There are 4 package options, all listed below. You should choose one to add to cart. If you are planning on using Drawn into the Heart of Reading, you can skip this step.

Note: Some of the books in the Emerging Reader’s Set 2 were also included in the old Drawn into the Heart of Reading Level 2 and Level 3 Book Packs (which have since been replaced). For those who already own the old Level 2 and Level 3 Book Packs, there is a separate “add-on” package option provided.

Option 1

Emerging Reader’s Set 1 with The Early Reader’s Bible

This version of the Emerging Reader's Set 1 includes The Early Reader’s Bible. Choose this set if your child needs an easier Bible, with shorter stories and a more controlled vocabulary.

Option 2

Emerging Reader’s Set 1 with The Beginner’s Bible

This version of the Emerging Reader's Set 1 includes The Beginner’s Bible. This Bible has a higher reading level than The Early Reader’s Bible.

Option 3

Emerging Reader’s Set 2

Choose this set if your child has already completed the Emerging Reader's Set 1 or can read beginning chapter books.

Option 4

Emerging Reader’s Set 2 Add-on

If you already own the old Drawn into the Heart of Reading Level 2 and Level 3 Book Packs, then you can purchase this “Add-on” package instead of the Emerging Reader's Set 2.
