Re: prep time weekly?
My daughter in RtR prints her own maps as she goes. I will be encouraging her as she moves into RevtoRev to have a flick through the coming week at the end of the week to make sure we have everything available for her. I will do the same with my other blossoms. Do you think one of your older ones co...

Re: Carrie or Julie, Please Help with Placement 1 more time
MothermayI, just in answer to your ETA question. The passages of history are broken up. Honestly I would think the readings are generally between 5 and 10 minutes, more often just the ten minutes. And you can split it up a little each day and ask a few questions to see that she is understanding it. ...

Re: First grade struggling reader
I also would like to encourage you. My oldest son is 8 1/2. He is just starting to read through The Early Readers Bible, and is astounding me with his progress all of a sudden. It took us two years to get through The Reading Lesson and that was after trying some other phonics based programmes before...

Re: Need Help Deciding Between Little Hearts or Beyond
The guides up to Bigger Hearts for His Glory are all five days a week. After that they are four day weeks. You can choose either to just spread it out over extra weeks or try to condense the five days into four for the earlier guides. Hope that helps.

Re: Placement
Have you looked at the placement chart? I'm looking really at what you are saying about your daughter. I would suggest LHFHG with 1st grade options in math and handwriting. I would look at doing the emerging readers with her if she is ready for them. The only 1st grade option I wouldn't recommend as...

Re: What would you do?
Would doing the World Geography guide work at half speed? Keep her going at her pace in English, Literature and Math and do everything else at half pace. Do you think that could work? Would she be able to cope with the level of work without the intensity?

Re: Time to do HOD guides each day? (running 2 guides)
Preparing has a good amount of independent work in it. You can make a little more independent if you feel you need too. We are currently doing these two guides. I work with my BLHFHG chap first and do everything all at once. Normally takes 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours including his reading and math. While...

Re: Would love some placement help
I am so pleased to read you have seen your children place in those guides. I also thought they would be the guides for them. I think the other ladies have given you great direction on how to stagger start them. The other thing I suggest is to make a loose guideline how you are going to manage your t...

Re: Would love some placement help
I have looked at the placement chart, but I also have an oldest who has read a lot of the books and younger ones who have heard many of the books read aloud. I'm going to suggest you look at the placement chart and place them according to the chart. Seriously that is really the best place. If they ...

Re: Supplement World Religions in WG guide?
He was concerned that he would not learn about the humanistic, atheistic Western culture. How can I meet this need for him? Are there any good resources? Hi Debra, I feel it is really important for our children to learn about the humanistic, atheistic Western culture too, but I doubt there are any ...
