The Economy Package contains the 12 required resources below including Girl Talk for the girl option and Created for Work for the boy option. These resources correspond with the U.S. History II guide's plans to help your student earn one full credit in U.S. History II and one full credit in Bible. The U.S. History II guide also schedules additional resources daily to allow your student to earn up to 7 total credits for this year of study. Be sure to add any additional packages beyond the Economy Package to customize this program to add credits that suit your student's needs. This guide is ideally targeted for students in grade 12. However, students that have come up through Heart of Dakota on the youngest age range of our guides and have completed our World Geography as their first year of high school, our World History as their second year of high school, and our U.S. History I as their third year of high school, may use the U.S. History II guide in grade 11 as their fourth year of high school. Money-saving packages are listed below. Individual pricing is listed behind each item.
NOTE: Read the notes listed behind each product in parentheses and at the end of the package to see if you need to add the United States History Atlas, the Book of Centuries, items needed if you did not use U.S. History I, and/or extra items for an additional student to your Economy Package.

Living Library Packages:
The book set below is a "Living Library" selected to enhance the U.S. History II plans. The books in this package are not intended to fulfill your student's high school literature credit, as the "Literature" portion of the U.S. History II guide schedules separate higher-level literature to fulfill that need. Instead, the books in this package were chosen to enrich the history study by providing a different facet, point of view, or perspective of history. A daily reading schedule for the books is provided in the guide. This set is highly recommended, unless you need to economize, however it is not required to earn credit in U.S. History II. Individual pricing is listed behind each item. Note: Since some of the books listed below are also part of the Missions to Modern Marvels Extension Pack, there are separate add-on package options at the end of the book listings for those families who may already own the Missions to Modern Marvels Extension Package.

Spanish Package: Adding the Spanish Package below to the Economy Package adds ½ credit of Spanish to your student's program. Since this Spanish program moves quickly and is quite vocabulary intensive, it is best if students have had a rigorous Spanish I program (including exposure to typical introductory Spanish II topics) prior to beginning this year of instruction. Students who have used the Spanish in our U.S. History I will be well prepared for this year of Spanish study. Following the plans as scheduled in the U.S. History II guide will earn ½ credit in Spanish II. Students will use Units 1-4 of the Spanish Homeschool Curriculum for this year of instruction. To read more about the selections for the Spanish portion of the plans, click here.

Latin/Greek Package: Adding the Latin/Greek Package below to the Economy

plans as scheduled in the U.S. History II guide will earn ½ credit in Latin/Greek.
Students may choose this foreign language option in addition to the Spanish option
scheduled within the U.S. History II guide, or for those students who have already
earned at least two consecutive credits in one foreign language, the Latin/Greek
option may be chosen in place of further foreign language study. To read more

Finance: Adding the Finance Package below to the Economy Package adds ½
credit of Finance to your student's program. Following the plans as scheduled in the
U.S. History II guide will earn ½ credit in Finance. For students in states that
require a full credit in economics, this course combined with the economics course
scheduled in U.S. History II earns a full credit in economics. Some states allow
students to choose either economics or finance for required credit in this area. If
your state falls in this category, you may consider choosing between the economics
and finance options offered within U.S. History II. However, we consider both
economics and finance to be important areas of study for all graduates. To read
more about the selections for the Finance portion of the plans, click here.

English: High school credit in English is earned through a combination of literature,
writing, and grammar. In the U.S. History II guide, the daily literature portion uses
a set of full-length novels/plays to earn credit in British Literature. The writing
portion is wound within the daily Literature Journal assignments and the grammar
portion uses the last half of Rod and Staff: English 8 twice weekly. Together these
resources add one-full English credit to your student's program. Either order a
complete English package (which includes literature and grammar), or customize by
ordering a smaller package or individual items. Money-saving packages are found
below. To read more about the selections for the British Literature portion of the
plans, click here.

Math: For math, customize with one of the math options for Precalculus below, or use your own math curriculum to add one-full math credit to your program. For Precalculus, the U.S. History II guide recommends a choice of using Foerster's Precalculus with Trigonometry, or continuing with VideoText Geometry to complete Precalculus (for those who were previously working through Geometry and Trigonometry with VideoText). If your student does not wish to pursue Precalculus, one other option would be to use www.mathhelp.com for College Algebra instead. Of the options listed below, we recommend the package that includes the text and the Math Without Borders flash drive. This package will provide video instruction for the text, assigned problems for each day of work, and fully worked video solutions for assigned problems. The text only contains the answers for odd numbered problems and does not include fully worked solutions. The Teacher Edition has solutions for all problems, but does not include video instruction or assign specific problem sets for each day's work like the Math Without Borders flash drive does. To read more about the individual resources for the math portion of the plans, click here.
