DITHR - what is the sample book list?

Postby MelInKansas » Sat Jun 30, 2012 9:00 pm

I assumed it was just a list of books for the genres and reading levels. Is that correct? I didn't really find a description on the website that explains this.

And an added note, I am so excited that DD is almost ready to begin DITHR 2/3, I think she is going to love it. She actually loves reading, I could probably give her 2-3 books in each genre and she would easily finish them all. That's why I'm interested in the book list, to find more things I can get/check out for her to read.

Melissa, Yep that is exactly what the sample book list is. Its a printedd out list that has title/authors for each genre & reading level. I use it to find more books for my dd too, my library has quite a few. Its nice knowing some quality books for her to read! Enjoy! We just started Dithor too!!

I love the suggested book list! I taught HOD for over a year, and just picked out my own library books. I'm really enjoying the book list and wish I would have "spent the big bucks" -like 5 whole dollars I think :D and just bought the list from the beginning! It is so helpful!

I just received mine yesterday! :D I love it! The books I recognize are favorites of mine, and there are many that I do not that I think will be good to try. It is wonderful to have a book list for extra books from Carrie whose content I have confidence in. I think it will be very helpful for extra reading from the library. Worth far more than the $5 it costs.

My list is so tattered now! :D I use it even for free reading ideas, as I have come to love the ease of use of the DITHOR book packs now that they are available. :D The Sample Book Ideas list also has a coding system on the back, so if you enjoy a certain resource for books, you can see which resource(s) that book is listed on (i.e. Honey for a Child's Heart, Sonlight, Books Children Love, etc.). :D So many former Sonlight users have commented on enjoying this feature of the Sample Book Ideas list especially, as it helps them use the books they already own with DITHOR easily. The list also includes approximate reading levels for each book, which is helpful. Yeah, that list is a deal - $5. Worth every penny. :D
