foreign language curriculum

I really want to start doing a little Spanish with my kids. I would love to know what foreign language curriculum you use and what you like about it. Thanks!

Carrie has mentioned using Getting Started With Spanish (or same but Latin). She uses Hey Andrew! For Greek with her sons. I like the CM program called The Easy Spanish. It's CM in method but I don't.think the lessons are all that short. GSWS is short lessons as are the lessons in.Visual Latin. I mention Latin bc it's a great intro to all the romance languages including.Spanish .

We will be using Rosetta Stone Homeschool French. The kids have been reviewing their Indonesian with Rosetta Stone as well (we are missionaries). Rosetta Stone is expensive, but it's worth it to me because it's on the computer, uses native speakers, I don't have to teach it at all, and it's a relatively fun and painless way to learn a language compared to many curriculums.

Thanks for the input, ladies! My husband and I just started doing Rosetta Stone Spanish ourselves. Both of us took Spanish in school and want to brush up before traveling this summer. I will think about for the kids, too. Thanks for the other ideas as well. I will enjoy checking into those. Anybody else out there have anything?

We are using La Clase Divertida with my 7 and 8 year old. I haven't used it yet, but I have looked around and it seems like everything I have been looking for while the kids are young. I like the hands on (which was always the most fun when studying a language and new culture) portion and the fact that it's not too serious. We'll probably do more when they get a bit older, but this should be a fun introduction. It has three levels, and takes the same approach throughout. I'm planning on stretching it out and repeating the lesson so it will take almost the enitre year to do one level.

Sure, I'll post an update once we get started. I was looking for something similar in French, but couldn't find much. Anyone have any suggestions for a fun intro to French course?

Trista, I haven't used it yet, but I have heard good things about "The Easy French" (just Google it)--"La Francais Facile". It's supposed to be a complete elementary program with a gentle style.

We are using "PowerGlide French" for High School, and I really like it, but I have had 2-1/2 years of French myself, so I can help our dd learn it, and we are doing it together. I think it's out-of-print, but they still have some copies at Christian Book Distributors, where we bought it last year.
