Thanks so much ladies! We're excited too and are so glad that it will be planned for our own sons to use next year and in the years to come. It makes my life much better balanced in the day-to-day to have the guides for each of my kiddos coming up all planned out. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Ladies,

We are getting so many questions right now about the new guide that I am going to make this a sticky for now at the top of the board. :D

Thanks for all your feedback! :D

Carrie

I am new to HOD so if this has been answered already, I apologize. When is this guide expected to be out? We are switching to HOD in the Fall for my 2nd and 3rd graders and am still unsure about our 8th grader. Thanks!

Welcome!!! The teacher's guide will be available in August. The book packs will be available sooner, usually around May/June. I will have an 8th grader in Rev. to Rev. in September.

Just wondering when the week-at-a-glance and introduction will be available on the site? We won't need this until around Christmas but I'm still anxious to see the layout.... :)

I only see the Week-At-A-Glance and not the Introduction?

Ah! I didn't see the part about the Introduction. I was thinking of the Sample Week and the Sample Layout of a Day, both of which are now up. The Intro. is the last thing to go up on the website, as we cannot write it in its entirety until the whole book is done and ready for the printer. It will likely be up at the end of July or beginning of August. :D

I'm having a hard time here. LOL

A looooong time ago (a year + ago?) , you mentioned that at this stage, the students will be alot more independent, self-run kinda thing... is that the plan for this guide, or is it teacher directed/led?

I need to figure out things and with multiple students, this is a concern.
Thanks!

Joyfulheart,

Here is a link to the sample of the first week of Rev 2 Rev: http://www.heartofdakota.com/pdf/reviva ... e-week.pdf. In it you can see what subjects are meant to be independent, semi-Independent, or teacher directed by looking at the upper right corner of each box. There is a little I, S, or T there that lets you know how that box is supposed to be handled. In looking it over depending on the day, it looks to me like 6 or 7 of the boxes are "I" boxes to be done Independently by the student, 2 or 3 are "S" boxes to be started with the teacher and finished independently, 1 box has a "T" which is to be teacher directed, and 1 box (storytime) is either "T" or "I" which means it's up to you whether you feel it is best for your student to do this box independently or if you want to teach this box (i.e. read the story together). I don't know if that is what you were needing, but hopefully it will help. :D

I'm looking forward to using Rev 2 Rev in the fall also!! Is it too soon to tell the date it will ship? I ask because we'll start our fall calendar August 15th. If it's not ready to ship by then would it be possible to e-mail purchasers the first week or two to get started ?

Thanks!
