We use dictation for Spelling and my 13 year old(8th grader) won the 7th/8th grade for the County.
She lost the next round to go to Regional, but she did great.
She won the 7th/8th for county last year too.

Congrats to your daughter on her spelling skills!
It's exciting to hear about dictation working well in a variety of situations and ages. Letting go of a formal spelling program was hard for me to do, but we've found that our boys are excelling with dictation too.

Marsha - A big congratulations goes out to your dd! I agree - dictation does work, if we just let it. I had to learn that myself. Thanks for letting us know about her success and good luck to her the next year too!
