Back from our researching/planning/brainstorming retreat...

Post by Carrie » Mon Jun 15, 2009 4:00 pm

Ladies,

I have to share that my sister and I have just returned from our annual researching/planning/brainstorming retreat and had a wonderful time! We are filled with terrific ideas, plans, and thoughts for our newest guide on the medieval/renaissance/reformation time period.

All I can say is that you are in for a treat when you get a chance to see the resources we're planning and the design of what is ahead unfold! We have some unexpected new things simmering in several areas and will unveil some of our ideas after Creation to Christ is released. I just wanted to let you know we're excited about what is ahead for HOD, and we hope you will be too! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

I am super excited to see what you have in store! I was just researching a little more on some of the resources used in CTC, and all I can say is just "wow"! I love it all!!! I have a little ways until we get there, but I just wanted to let you know that we are loving every minute with Heart of Dakota!
We can't wait until the fall, when we begin Beyond! The kids are very excited to begin reading all the great books! And, I have to say that I am too!!:)
Thank you!!

Thank you, Carrie and Julie, so much for all of your hard work on our behalf. I am SO excited to see what you gals are cooking up!! I have been praying for you and your family. It's been a wonderful summer knowing that I don't have to search for next year's materials, but can just sit back and enjoy the gift that you've given to me and my family. :D

You make life so hard!!!!! Why, you ask? Because I'm so excited to do these programs that I feel myself wishing my kids were older, which then makes me feel so sad and guilty for wanting them to grow up because I don't! Shame on you for making such fabulous programs and causing us all to wrestle with guilt and anguish!

(I'm being facetious, of course!)

Carrie and Julie,

Thank you for all you do. I hope you were able to get away to a beautiful, serene place that fueled the creative fires. :D Will you implement this newest plan on your oldest for tweaking this upcoming year? I can't wait to hear about it. I would love to hear more of the HOD story. I know Carrie has written the guides. Is there a thread that gives insight on how the two of you ended up working together? I would love to know how the Lord brought about HOD.

You two make me yearn for "sister time" with my dear homeschooling sis. :D

Thank you, ladies! You are such a wonderful group of encouragers - what a blessing the Lord has given us in you. :) We prayed and prayed for God's guidance as we researched resources for the upcoming guide. As always, He did not disappoint, but made clear His way by giving us an abundance of resources that are both God-honoring and rich in learning. I am SO EXCITED about these resources - God just has such a way of weaving things together and filling in gaps to make a wonderful collection of materials. There will be some surprises, some intrigue - oh, it's just so exciting - can't wait to share more about it as it all unfolds. :D
