My curiosity has gotten the best of me. I was hoping someone would reply before now, b/c I have absolutely NO idea, but I want to know! So please tell! Does it have to do with the Revolution? the British? a macaroni penguin? :) (just had to throw the penguin out there!)

Yankee Doodle is a British song making fun of those poor Americans who wanted to be like the British.

Macaroni was a popular hat style in London...

Macaroni was a term for a extravagant dandy... they had wild hair styles and used to put the tricorn hat on the top of it all... so people, hats and the hairstyle were all called macaroni. (think scarlet pimpernel)

The penguin was named after this set and is an interesting way to make it fun for kids.
