If you are on the Homeschool Lounge Reviews have opened!

Post by water2wine » Wed Jun 04, 2008 10:01 pm

There are some wonderful Christian ladies there. I would love to see us put up some wonderful HOD reviews. I am just thinking about how to add them myself if I want to do a general one or by level. Maybe both! I am having a few physical struggles right now but as soon as I get to feeling better I will add mine. Hoping some of my HOD buddies will join in as well! 8)

Thanks you guys for your prayers! I really appreciate that. I am sure it will turn out to be nothing serious. I just have some tingling in my hands and feet and am kind of wiped out. I have been to the doctor and had all kinds of tests run. I am thinking that it will be something as simple as anemia. No worries. Just to give you a laugh, the doctor asked me if perhaps I was breathing too much. I assured him that God had this wonderful system in place that made breathing something I did not even have to think about. Hehehe!

OK I did my review. If you go to the Lounge do not leave mine there alone. :D

You can reply to mine, but ya know Hi we know we both love it, hehehe! I'm not sure how much that helps. Really I think it would be great for people to do their own just like on HSR. Honestly I am still trying to figure it out but I am sure it is possible to make your own review. It is different there though and I was kind of surprised people respond to your review. But actually the culture there is sort of like here, people are very friendly so I think that is all that is. :D

What I would do though is just go to topic of Unit Study and hit post review, put the same or even different title if you want to do a specific program (mine was more general) and then type away. Good news if you blow it I have already found you can delete the entire thing and start over.

Reviews are new there so I think everyone is just trying to figure it out. I think they will realize that they do not have it quite set up for reviews to correlate yet and it maybe a little flaw in their set up. I am not sure to be honest. At this point nobody has really reviewed the same product under anything that I can find.

water2wine,

I am just back from convention, but I wanted to let you know that I'm lifiting you up in prayer right now. I'm praying for answers and for healing.

I also wanted to share that I had several moms at the convention mention that they had read "a lady's" review on the HSR board that said that in the end (while academics are important) even more important is what we teach our children about faith. This is because someday we'll all stand before our Lord and give account (not about the history cycle or how many academic subjects we covered) but about what we did to teach our children about Him. I know they are referring to your review, and it gave me goosebumps to know how many lives you are impacting. :D

Each of you ladies are so instrumental in helping other families strive toward what is most important, while still making sure we cover academics well. You are helping moms everywhere get a new perspective on what we're placed on this earth to do. It reminds me so much of the story of Mary and Martha. While Martha did many things (which were good things), Mary chose what was best by sitting at the feet of Christ.

Blessings,
Carrie

Carrie I really appreciate your prayers. I am a little anxious because I am having weird symptoms. There is a very good chance it is just an allergic reaction. I do feel that it is not going to turn out to be anything serious. On the other the other hand I am going to see a neurologist and a kidney specialist. So I do covet your prayers. I am so certain it is not going to turn out to be something major but I do really appreciate the covering in prayer.

On the review stuff, I have never said anything about HOD that was not true for how it has blessed us. And I know that all the moms here are telling people and wanting them to be blessed the way their family has been blessed with HOD. There are so many miserable and frustrated moms out there and I think at some point we have all been frustrated with the search. We all want other moms to love what they use too. And personally I hope He blesses you so much with other people singing the praises of HOD that perhaps 4 more years of HOD will just not be enough. But in all honesty it is no one person's words, you are just reaping what you have sewn. :D You made it a ministry and God blesses that!

water2wine,

I am so glad that you are getting your symptoms checked out. We need to be advocates for our own health, as no one else will otherwise!

I know many moms on this board struggle with various health issues, and it helps so much to know others are lifting us up in prayer.

We'll continue to be in prayer for you!

Blessings,
Carrie
