Jacob's Lentil Soup

Post by Kirsten » Fri Sep 07, 2012 4:41 pm

We are in CTC and just learned this week about Jacob and Esau's rivalry and I made some lentil soup. Both kids declared they would be very tempted to give up their birth rite for the soup. I can't believe how much they liked it!

Mmm red lentils. They ARE good- and nutritious!
I made a red lentil loaf and my son said, "red lentils... isn't this what 'that guy' ate???" LOL that guy... haha

"Yes sweetie... Esau. you are mighty perceptive." I wanted to see if he would make the connection on his own.

Could you share the recipe? We're doing a rotation on Jacob in Sunday School next month and I was thinking about doing a cooking lesson. This gives me ideas.

I use lentils a lot so when we read the Golden Bull, my kids understood the lentil barley soup. :)
