EMERGENCY PRAYERS PLEASE

Post by Mom2Monkeys » Fri Jun 01, 2012 9:15 pm

Serious prayers needed for my just-turned-15yo baby brother, Matthew, please. He was taken to the ER tonight after having something very heavy fall on his toes and nearly severing them. He was then transported to Arkansas Children's Hospital where they did emergency surgery to put in pins and reattach his three middle toes. Within 48hrs, they should know if the reattachment will take or if they will be amputating those three toes. I have seen only a picture (which was really disturbing) and live 1500miles away. Our youngest sister just turned 13 yesterday so it's been a whirlwind already! I know there will be PT ahead of him either way and they aren't Christians. I'm praying maybe this will actually get him out of the "typical teenage lifestyle" he's been living. He's such a sweet heart, and really needs some direction. Praying that God puts nurses and doctors and PT people in his path that can make a difference beyond the healing.

I should add, this happened b/c he and friends were given 40hrs of community service for stomping lightbulbs in a condemned building. The city's mayor took Matt and his friends there without protective gear to make them serve, in a CONDEMNED building. He made them pick up messes and this included making them all life a really heavy metal lid of sorts...I'm guessing like a sewer lid you see in the roads...big and incredibly heavy. He had his shoes on, it was dropped directly on his toes, cutting his shoe and severing the toes...I think it stopped at the bone from the pic, but it may have gone through the bone as well. The mayor was hugely responsible for this b/c of his irresponsibility to not provide protective equipment and making young teen boys (and my brother is really small and looks much younger) dangerously do a man's job. THis is certainly more harm than he deserved for his lightbulb stomp. :?

Oh poor baby! That is horribe, horrible. I am so sorry. Praying for healing of his toes. I can't believe that he was put into such a position! Wow. Going into a condemned building... isn't that as bad as the "crime". Eh..? 2 dangerous things don't make safety? Hope he recovers fully.
