Our lives have changed

Post by psreit » Sat Jan 21, 2012 6:45 pm

I just wanted to share that I got word today that our precious little foster daughter is not coming back. She was on a visit with her mother and she decided to keep her. She's over 15 months and we had her since birth. So, we would appreciate prayer. Although we were preparing for this, there will be emotional times for a while. The Lord has already been filling my time and mind with other things. I have to focus on the positive. Angie is going to really benefit from my free time. I have to change gears with her schooling now. I knew the baby would not be staying. So, now that we have entered a new chapter in our lives, I am getting excited about doing things we couldn't do while being foster parents. I am so thankful for God's grace and peace in this situation. I can only trust Him for special days ahead.

It sounds like her return was very sudden, I am saying a prayer for your adjustment and your hearts. Bless you for giving of yourselves for those who need to see God's love.

((((hugs)))) Praying for you during this transition time. I'm sure you were such a blessing to that little girl for the 15 months you had her. :)
Praying also for the baby and her mom, that they would know Jesus and come to Him in the true faith. :)

May the Lord comfort you tonight...so moving to read this. You are a special woman and all that you sowed into that precious child will not be in vain. Bless you so much for your service to our Father in caring for his little ones.

Thank you for all the loving encouragement. It was a sudden thing. A week ago we had a feeling it could happen, but we were left dangling until today. What makes it so hard is that when her mom and grandma took her, she was screaming for me. When she was put in their car, she had tears running down her cheeks. That is what has been difficult for me. I was preparing for the time she'd have to leave us, but had no idea it would end this way.

That sounds like a truly heartbreaking experience - my heart goes out to you. Praying that you'll find comfort, and rest in the Lord to take care of you and your sweet foster daughter. ((hugs))

I have prayed for you Pam - that will be a change for sure. May the Lord be by your side guiding you through this, may He be with the birth mom and little babe, and may He be with Angie as well. I pray that this will be a special time for you and Angie, as you'd mentioned. I do think this could be a time of new beginnings, which can be sad and happy at the same time, Lord willing. I will be thinking of you.

In Christ,

Thank you for all the prayers.
Yes, Julie. These are new beginnings. As much as I enjoyed the 15 months of caring for our foster daughter, I feel like a new chapter has started in our lives. I believe God had us ready for this. Even Angie is doing great. We already have some exciting plans for the rest of the school year. :D I think she is enjoying having all the attention. Looking forward to wonderful things ahead. :D
