I Organized All My HOD Curriculum!

Post by Daisy » Sat Jun 06, 2009 3:45 pm

Check it out. I think someone on here mentioned using stickers to code their books. That worked out awesome for us.

Wow! What a great system! I might consider doing that before the upcoming school year begins.

Thanks,

Ooh! I loved your organization idea. It was so neat to see all of your books lined up for your HOD programs for next year. Do you want to come to my house and organize my books!?! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

I'm an organizing queen. LOL. My 9yo daughter has the bug too. All I have to say is "organize" and her eyes sparkle. My son....not so much.

Daisy - that looks awesome! I really like the sticker system as well, and the way you labeled and organized them will make it super easy to grab what you need quickly. Ooooo, all of those great books are tempting though - if you're not starting right away you may need to hang a blanket or curtain over that shelf - a very drab looking one - or those books will just be toooo tough to resist! Thanks for sharing! :D

P.S. I loved the introduction on your blog. You're not by chance a CM fan are you? Your writing has shades of her greatness. :)

I just went to sonlight and ordered an extra sheet of 7 of their colored sticker sheets for their cores. I remember not being able to remove them once they were on and I like this idea. This way I know I have enough for every level of HOD and the stickers will stick forever! Fun. Great idea.

Wonderful! You are going to find that works really well. We have color coded stickers for category and then genre and reading level on them. Has worked great for us!

Looks good. I have a little bookshelf with all of the HOD books and guides. Once a month I go thru it and reorganize it because we get it all messed up in no time. I am organizlly challeged but working on it. I am also the organizlly challeged housewife.

My3sons, lol, about the books. They are on my shelf in MY bedroom. The kids know to leave them alone but I've caught them throwing longing glances at them.

I don't really define myself as a CM adherent, although I appreciate much of her writings. I've always been a bit of a wild card, preferring to take nuggets from here and there (Beechick, Clarkson, etc). I think that is why I'm so excited about HOD. Carrie has really done what I've been slaving over for 3 years; a beautiful mix of traditional and living books steeped in God's Word.

WHEW! I was worried you might start the school year finding that all of those books had already been read. :D Good idea to sequester those books.

Very well said - that is one of the reasons I love HOD too! The best of it all, put together for me. Very nice! :D

Hello Daisy,

Great organization! I was thinking of doing something similar and having the visual really helps.
