Graudation day!

Today was bittersweet because we celebrated DS finishing LIttle Hearts. Although we are very excited to start Beyond, we are sad to be done with Little Hearts. This is our first guide completed with HOD and it was just a wonderful program. DS has grown so much in the last year. Here are a couple of pictures:
One last time for the action rhyme yesterday, in pj's (gotta love homeschooling). I doubt Carrie will recognize this as coming from her guide because DS seemed to be doing his own version of "We Must Be Ready." I have to add this was the child that just looked at me with a pained look on his face at the beginning of the year when it came to doing the action rhymes. As you can see, we are past that now

I dug out my yellowing 8th grade graduation cap for the ceremony (which kind of looks like a chef's hat on DS). Here he is receiving his diploma from DH.

The proud graduate!

DS requested macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob, and watermelon for his graduation dinner. We obliged, with cake and ice cream of course!

Congratulations! Your ds looks so happy and proud, what an accomplishment that is. :D

All HOD guides leave you with mixed emotions. Sad to end the guide and very excited to go to the next. Hope next year will be as much of a blessing to you and your little guy. :D

Countrymom,

Oh! What precious pictures of your cute little guy! I can just feel the motion in him! :D You are so right that finishing a guide is bittersweet. I love the feeling of completion and the kiddos are always so proud, but I know they're another year older and I feel a bit sad to say good-bye to the guide too! :D

I'm celebrating with you this evening! Way to go mom! It sounds like you had a wonderful celebration meal too! :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Congratulations! :D

How cute is he? So cute! I am thankful for all that HOD does in each of our homes and the happiness written on your little guy's face says it all! I wish you blessings as you begin Beyond. We're starting it this Aug! Thanks for posting such great pictures of your celebration!

In Christ,

Lisa

CTC Unit 1 * Day 3&4

Some highlights of our first unit with CTC: We love the Genesis book. I have a feeling it's going to be hard not to look ahead in that one. Land Animals of the 6th day is also a favorite. The kids really enjoyed the poetry painting.

Thanks Moedertje and Countrymom! :) Thank you Sam! Looks like you had a great week with your boys! I wish I had found HOD when mine were younger. The manuals you're in look so fun!
