Hey gals! Hope your week was great!
I feel like our school-year finally has it's regular rhythm. Since we started in July, I guess it's taken 4 months! I guess it's better late than never!

LHTH: Unit 8
LHFHG: Unit 11
BHFHG: Unit 10

We loved the parting the red sea painting in LHTH! I don't blog about LHTH because I do that program with my daycare kiddos. Love the pics of the art projects too!

Here is a peek into our week with Beyond!

Hi! Wilson's here!
We are doing Preparing for dd9 and extensions with ds11. After a very rocky start with school, we completed Unit 6 this week, and are loving our studies!!!
The highlights of our week were playing an ancient Babylonian game online with ds11 (he won!), learning to draw the Sphinx and Joseph, and making and eating those delicious Egyptian honey cakes like Tirzah and her family!

I personally am loving Grandpa's Box and Tirzah. As has been said on many a Charlotte Mason website, "You know you've got a good book, when the kids beg you to keep reading!!!"

Carrie,
Your book selections are amazing. Never in a million years would I have come up with such wonderful selections for our studies - and I've tried out A LOT of curriculum!!! Praise God for you and Heart of Dakota!!

Can't wait to see what we learn next week! :D

The last post makes me even more excited for Preparing next year :) I love when the kids beg for me to read more. Baby Island has been one of those books for us. My two olders are loving it.... sea biscuit wasn't a hit though.

We worked on unit 9 in Bigger Hearts this past week. It was about Ben Franklin - one of my ds's favorites.
This week he said "I love history!" more than once. :D He also had to let me know he loved the science. He loves to draw and do experiments!
It was a push on the R&S English this week he kept saying "can this wait until tomorrow?". We only (barely) got 3 lessons done this week.
To end on a good note, he breezed through this week in multiplication. He gets that much better than addition or subtraction.

With my 5yo he is nearly done with the 'focused study' of phonics that I wanted for him and we plan to start LHFHG in the next 2-3 weeks.
I know he will enjoy it - he really liked LHTH, and the CM learning style. He eagerly awaits having a storytime just for himself.
