Today we had our first HOD show and tell. We are new HOD users and were so pleased to discover other families in our area would also be using HOD this year, I thought it would be nice to get the families together for a monthly get together. This will give our kids a chance to share a project, verse, song, poem or whatever. Today one family braved the horrible weather to come out. It was so nice to meet her and her beautiful family. I would attach pictures if I could figure out how lol.
This week Eliza loved the Goliath and David game in Little Hearts unit 8. We were happy to find we did indeed have one wall tall enough to hand Goliath up 9 feet. This was such a hit even the 13 year old had to play. In Preparing, Sarah and Jessie made signs with their names and meanings, began Aesop's Fables, and learned about wise Solomon. Pauline made egg noodles in Resurrection to Reformation unit 12. Can't say enough how pleased I am with how much cooking is in these guides. She especially is enjoying the Draw and Write Through History. I continue to be amazed at how Christ centered and complete HOD is. Thank you Carrie for bringing joy back to our school.

Enjoy reading everyone's posts - THANK YOU for sharing. We haven't used the younger guides yet (except LHTH). Every time I see what you all are doing, I get so excited for what my youngest will get to do for school!! :D :D

Our family has all been fighting the cold/allergy bug... and losing. So we got off track for a few weeks. We are still dealing with running noses, but are finally feeling much better. Hope to get back on track this week! (So far so good!)

This is my blog for unit 7 in LHTH, which actually took us about two weeks to do, but that is ok. It's like I told my SIL the other night, that is one of the joys of homeschooling. If we are sick, we take a break and just pick up where we left off. It's nice knowing that we aren't behind, and that we don't have to play catch up.

We haven't had a lot of school in the past couple weeks due to circumstances in our lives/schedule.
Despite that they are doing very well.
DS8 did unit 5 & half of unit 6 of Bigger Hearts, he really loved the science & drawing.
I started him on TRL along with his other training helps, and I believe his writing has picked up some! :)
DS5 is steadily plucking away on letter sounds and workbooks and will be ready to start LHFHG by December,
although I am planning to wait until we start back after Christmas Break. That is, if I last that long.
I really can not wait to start LHFHG, I am very much looking forward to it. He wants to do it also as he sees it looks like big brothers work to him,
and he has a friend @ church doing that guide now.
Sorry for rambling. I am only excited because this year they have been making great strides in their learning, much more than ever before. :D
