What was YOUR week Like?

You can post:

a- A picture
b- A blog Link
c- A written synopsis
d- Your favorite memory
e- Anything you want that shares your HOD excitement!

Important Note: If you are linking us to your blog, please make sure it's not just a general link, but to your specific post of HOD. That way if someone reads through these a year from now they can find your share without needing to hunt!

Ok, Ladies, here is a new post! :)
We are just finished up Unit 3 in Beyond and it has been hard getting back into the swing of things since my daughter was off for a week. We also just started unit 4 so far her favorites are art and the activities to do.

No, pics yet, I am super low tech!

Have a great weekend!

I just have to say I am so pleased with how our year is going and am grateful to God for smoothing our ride! Last year was our first year of homeschooling and I was schooling a very strong-willed Ker. This year, I have a different child. She is eager to please, and is working hard.

We are in the middle of Unit 19 and are also able to get a whole day done in a day. Last year we were going half-speed, so we are now going full-speed. How nice. I pray we can start Beyond by the time she is 6.5, in February.

I'm hopeful we can get some blog posts up here as our year progresses! :)

Here's our week. Ds finished up Unit 8 and some of unit 9 in Beyond and dd did Unit 2 in LHFHG. We only do 4 days a week so we don't do a unit a week :) It was so good to be back in the swing of school too. We went on vacation the previous week and we really enjoyed it, but it is really nice to be back to our routine. I will say too that each week we use HOD I like it more and more. This was our first week with DITHOR also and it was great! I love this program :)

Week 3 in Little Hands to Heaven - I can't thank God enough for guiding our path that led us to Heart of Dakota. We are having so much fun. It is exactly what we were looking for.

We had a great 6th week of Preparing and 10th week of Rev to Rev!

Ds8 finished up his 6th week of Preparing and I am so pleased with his progress. He is writing so much this year and doing such a great job. I wish I could share all of them with you! I will share just a few fun things we did this week in Preparing...

Our pollen project:

The little bee needs to get that sweet nectar out of that DEEP cactus flower:

I think he is going to have to tilt it toward him and push his face in as far as it can go:

Oh look! That little fella is covered with pollen. When he goes to the next flower, it may just rub off on there!

He LOVED this!

The next one was a yummy treat all the way from Egypt! Unlevened honey cakes (and boy they were good!):

We are taking the next two weeks off so my older son can visit with his dad and the other three of us are heading to the beach! Hope you all have wonderful weeks and hopefully when we get back to school, I can post pictures of their actual WORK (instead of just the fun stuff)...and even include the oldest child!!! LOL

Blessings!

Have a great couple of weeks, Tree House Academy!

We just finished Unit 19 of LHFHG. I am rejoicing because we are up to a unit a week, in time to start a co-op on Fridays. So, we will begin 4-days this week, and if we don't have much going on Saturdays, my desire is to finish up a week on Saturdays. I am not to the point of updating our blog on a regular basis, but that is a goal and a desire. By the end of this school year I anticipate to be up to Unit 8 of Beyond, going half-speed, and blogging weekly, if not more often, about our school.

Even though the best-laid plans of mice and men are often gone awry, and God sometimes laughs at our plans, I still believe it is helpful to have goals!

Girlie is doing GREAT with school, even in handwriting, which up to even last week was a sore subject in our house. And even Boy-O is joining right along with us in LHFHG. I was diagnosed with diabetes at the end of last school year, in May, so I'm just happy to be doing school. I haven't figured out how to add in LHTH yet, but pray we can do that too, as Girlie finishes LHFHG and moves to half-speed Beyond. :)

This was our first week with HOD! We used BHFHG and DITHOR. My dd loves it! :D She enjoys reading/listening to the history, listening to storytime, learning the Bible verses using hand motions and absolutely loves the science experiments! :D Even though our school day is longer than last year, she never complains. I love the organization of HOD, the Christ-centeredness and the way it flows. Plus, I love how my daughter isn't dreading school!
