Fairy tale unit idea - use Cinderella stories

Post by teachermom7 » Sun Sep 30, 2007 4:05 pm

One idea when studying folktales/fairy tales that worked well for my children last year was studying the various "Cinderella" stories found throughout the world. I was amazed at how many various Cindrella stories are out there. We read several (many can be found on the internet) and then compared and contrasted them. We used venn diagrams and charts to compare. I even had my children create their own version and they acted out their "Cinderella" tale for my husband and I. Even my 10 year old son enjoyed this unit. We read a couple of "boy" cinderella stories. We also did a week on just aesops fables.
