We started Drawn into the heart of reading today!

Post by Rebecca » Fri Oct 10, 2008 6:31 pm

Big, HUGE hit! Who knew my son would be so excited and thrilled? He picked Mystery. I chose Scripture Sleuth. Second son is very jealous and wishing he could do it too!

Purpose-filled reading- two thumbs way, way up!

I usually don't post on the first day of something- but I know this is not a fluke.

Wow, sounds exciting. We just started HOD this year. So we didn't order DITHOR yet. But I think my dd... would like it. I like to hear how things are working for others.

thanks for sharing

Huge hit here too with my 7yo dd!! She chose Humor and I'm amazed at the lessons we are learning! Who knew humor books would contain such wonderful life lessons?! We are crazy about anything HOD in our house. Carrie has done such an incredible job! I'm so glad your son is enjoying it as well. I'm looking forward to the mystery books. :)

Oh ladies! I'm SO glad you're enjoying DITHR. Right now my 4th grader is deep into solving his mystery for DITHR. We're getting closer to the end, and he can hardly wait to figure it out. Yesterday, I had to place an object in a sack that had something to do with his mystery book, and he had to guess what it was. I couldn't believe that he guessed it (based on the clues in his mystery)! 8)

By the way, the Scripture Sleuth books are his favorites! He has already read all 4. We are putting the next two Scripture Sleuth mystery books in our new "Boys Pack" for mystery for DITHR Level 4/5. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Hi!

We started DITHR this year and we love, love, love it! I am excited for my next dd to hurry up and learn to read so we can do it with her too!!! I am enjoying the books just as much as our oldest dd!! We are having fun and being 'stretched' in our thinking and comprehension skills, which is just what we needed. (not always easy--but necessary to help strengthen her weak auditory skills!--

We've been using DITHOR 3 years now, and it's still a hit! We just finished Historical Fiction, and my ds had a blast picking his end of the unit project. Level 2/3 also really prepared my ds for Level 4/5. Oh, and Scripture Sleuth has been a HUGE hit here too! DITHOR just keeps getting better - ditto to Kathleen's sentiments! :D
