Coming back! And question regarding Rev to Rev..
So excited to be coming back to HOD! We're looking forward to starting Preparing with my ds as soon as possible in the new year, and beginning Rev to Rev with my dds. If it's possible, can anyone please tell me which books are needed for the first 6-8 weeks of Rev to Rev? Financially, things are ver...

Re: CTC Notebook page samples
When you had asked about whether or not to use color, Carrie, I had envisioned white pages with the occaisional color graphic in a corner or something (and would have been happy with that, by the way ). My jaw dropped when I saw these samples! Bravo!

Re: Schedule question for Ancients
Hi Becca, I believe most will probably have their kiddos read their assignments out of the guide, since it's so well done and the easiest on mom. I made the decision at the beginning of last year to enter most of the assignments into Homeschool Tracker and then print out the daily task list to give ...

Re: Singapore Math questions, help please!
It was funny though because Jacob would get all flustered while trying to win, using the facts, That sounds very much like my son! I made sure he played the individual games for a while to build up his speed and confidence.. then he felt better about his "showing" against others. It's a great...

Re: Singapore Math questions, help please!
One website we use for drilling our facts is http://www.arcademicskillbuilders.com/ . It is really fun, the kids can drill individually or with other children online, and it's FREE! 8) We do addition on Mon, subtraction on Tues, multiplication on Wed, and division on Thurs. They have gotten their fa...

Re: Which dictation level do we use?
Hello, Heidi! A few things to consider: 1. Don't forget that you can begin in the "middle" of a level of dictation passages. If you feel your son knows the first half of Level 2 really well, then by all means start in the middle somewhere and just continue on from there. 2. Also consider, though, th...

Re: Ordering Creation to Christ
Hi Leslie, Thanks for the welcome! I have been to a few states and would love to get to Tennessee sometime. We actually live in Oklahoma now, but Tennessee sure was pretty. To make it even more confusing, dh and I were born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario, and lived there until about 5 years ago. ...

Re: Ordering Creation to Christ
Hi and welcome, Rachael! As far as I know, if you order now, everything will be shipped immediately except for the CTC guide and student notebooks. Now, I've never ordered from Canada before, but I believe Mike & Carrie's policies are the same for Canada as the US. Someone correct me if I'm wrong? H...

Re: Writing
Copywork is used as the primary source of writing instruction through the levels up to Bigger. Then, in addition to copywork, Preparing begins creative writing assignments and written narrations. They are very well done and talk you through each process step by step (right in the guide). If you are ...

Re: Am I understanding DITHOR correctly?
Hi! Yes, that is one way to do the program. I believe Carrie has two book sets to choose from in the Store as well, one for level 2 and one for level 3. (Of course, you can choose any books you wish!) Another way to do it would be to use DITHOR 3x per week, thereby covering all nine genres over the ...

Question for Carrie about science in CTC
Hi Carrie,
Just out of curiosity, could you please tell me approximately how many weeks are spent studying the three main areas of life science in CTC? Is it roughly 12 wks of plants, 12 of animals, 11 of anatomy?
Thanks for indulging me!
