No Drama Forum- TY!!!!!

Carrie, Thank you for this forum. There have been times in the past year that I wished we had an off topic place to chat about our lives on here but I totally respect why you have said no. I was at another site recently and found their chit chat/off topic whatever forum and it was just awful. Snide ...

Re: How To Handle Heavy/Violent Content With A Young One

My daughter came across a video on Youtube yesterday that showed some images from "The Passion of the Christ" set to Phil Wykham's "Divine Romance" song. We were listening to some of my favorite songs on there and me not thinking that it was playing to scenes from the movie went about my business si...

Re: A Kindergarten Routine...school ideas needed please : )

I think if you do full speed 4 days a week it will spread your year out for an extra 9 weeks which would be perfect as he is on the young side of K anyway. So with you schooling year round and Little Hearts taking so little time to complete, you could do it all this year through next summer and next...

Re: Child not enjoying an activity- make them do it anyway?

Well my answer may not be the popular one here but here goes anyway. My daughter started off liking the rhymes but shortly into it it became a chore and she didn't want to do them. She didn't think they were fun and she was uncomfortable doing them. I didn't make her do that because in all honesty i...

Re: Question about LHFHG and History for Little Pilgrims....

I haven't done it but you certainly could. My daughter was on the young side when we started so I didn't think it was necessary for us to add that in but if you like the ideas, then by all means go for it. That is the beauty of homeschooling and HOD.

Re: page protectors, dry/wet erase???

Use Vis-a-vis wet erase markers work great on page protectors. Dry erase is best for a white board.

Beyond history ?

For the history reading selections I was wondering if there are any specific important historical people that are studied beyond just a people group. (I.E. I am not so curious about pilgrims as I am about particular pilgrims...does that make sense?) Do any of you have a list of people covered. I was...

Re: Need quick advice...

Tamara- sorry that life is so chaotic for you right now. Seems like just when you think you know what you are doing the tide changes. I pray that you find peace in whatever the right decision is. I agree that combining all four is going to be possible so I'd try the two and two if you have to combine.

Re: To combine or seperate curriculum?

Have you checked the placement chart on the homepage? It would help you to know if you should combine them. My gut instinct would be to put your 7 year old in Bigger and have your 10 year old in CTC. But if you are really wanting to combine you probably could do it. If you start the 10 year old in C...

Re: What Would You Do??? Advice Welcome Please : )

Jessi: Thank you very much for your response also. I do feel that you have a good understanding of where I am coming from since you also run an in-home childcare. Thank you for your understanding. I greatly appreciate it. Also, how hard have you found it to do homeschooling while also running a chi...
