Re: Separating?

I was thinking that too...this coming year would be a perfect fit for my second in Beyond...again...but how do you do that? I'm just at a loss...maybe it's the lack of sleep?? Oh the nights I can lay awake pondering such things...

Re: Separating?

Patience I absolutely zero advice for you as it is strange that this is such a topic right now on the board and in our home!! God works in wonderful ways...and sometimes I need the extra push to figure it out!! I was just agreeing of "kicking myself" for not putting my dd6 in LHFHG this year...my ol...

Re: Question about supplementary things for LHTH

Our church library has kid's movies with different bible stories as their themes...my 3 year old LOVED these after we had done that story for the week...it was just a sort of special way to end that week's story and he was SO proud that he already knew that story!

Have fun!

Re: Make me like Singapore!!! :)

I have to agree not to let Singapore hold you back on HOD...we do Horizons math along with HOD and it is perfect...for us...I have actually ordered Singapore and returned it...it just wasn't a good fit for my family...but I really wanted to do it bc math was the only thing we were doing that was "no...

Re: Grammar Question

I don't know much about GWG and I'm usually of the mindset...if it isn't broken don't fix it!! But, here, I would encourage you to really explore R & S...we switched from FLL 3 and my daughter really likes it and is REALLY getting it...it's a great approach that really makes them "get" it...not just...

Hello ladies...in looking ahead to next year...I have 2 questions (for now!!)... Number 1....We will begin using DITHOR with then dd9 and dd7....dd9 has never done DITHOR but I was thinking of still starting her in the 2/3 book...does this sound right? She does not "appreciate" too much of a challen...

Re: Dictation in Bigger

I have a very touchy-feely bouncing off the walls type of dd8...so bc I am not willing to trust my guide in her hands on certain days...I have written the passages out on index cards and numbered them...so she knows to study the first one in the box and then when we complete it, we move it to the ba...

Re: Scary moment for mom during Bigger Science Unit 7

That post has me LOL  It's so true....it definitely isn't as big a deal to them as the "anticipation" is to us!! Makes me think of the time my oldest (then 4...so what can you tell her) asked me while was driving down the road...."How did Nathan get in your tummy??" --- YIKES! Let Mommy finish ...

Re: Starting Beyond on Monday, question about storytime...

First of all...welcome to HOD and I pray you will enjoy Beyond as much as we do!! I know for us...we have trouble making any book take the entire 4 weeks (we're still working on that) we get so excited trying to find out what is about to happen...we often keep reading...but we are working on that to...

Re: Do you find it difficult to get it all done?

I haven't done Sonlight but I have tried MFW and Winterspromise which is similar and we didn't complete either year. I realize these are a great fit for many families, I'm not bashing...they just weren't a good fit for my family or me....HOD is the first curriculum that I do regularly without questi...

Re: Looking Ahead Questions

Thanks Ladies....you rock! That's great advice....I will certainly look into the cube or colored sticks....they are more than willing to do our discussions together...I just always worry about my second daughter...if I handed her a pile of workbooks and told her what pages to do...she would gladly g...
