Re: Funny! Key to the Treasure

Oh good, it's a series. Yes, we might have a new lunchtime routine. Raindrops, it's part of the boys storytime collection in Beyond. You will love Beyond!

Funny! Key to the Treasure

Today my ds asked if I could read Key to the Treasure during lunch. I usually don't do that, because my little ones will hear it next year. When I looked at the cover of the book, I thought there was a little resemblance to my kids, but I wasn't sure if it was three friends or siblings. Well, we sta...

Re: Singapore 2A - Adding Vertically ?

Tansy, LOL, yes that would be more difficult to add in your head. LOL. Ok, so I'll just let him do what he's doing and let it be for now. He seems to be getting the mental math even if I don't...LOL.

Thanks MomtoJGJE and Tansy.

Re: Singapore 2A - Adding Vertically ?

MomtoJGJE, did I understand you correctly. In 3B they start adding by going from left to right, or did you mean right to left? I never really understood what every one was talking about when they would say, "mental math", but now I think I understand. DS has been doing mental math all along. Tansy, ...

Singapore 2A - Adding Vertically ?

We just started adding vertically in Singapore 2A. I'm trying to get ds to add from right to left, but he insists that it's easier to go from left to right. He's dyslexic, so he is very used to me telling him read everything from left to right. He used to write and read from the wrong side of the pa...

Re: Question about extensions?

Thank you ladies. That makes me feel so much better. I didn't realize that they had to read the extensions themselves. That would be way too much. Water2wine, I do feel pressure, because he's always been behind. I will just keep plugging along on our current path. Right now, he is enjoying everythin...

Question about extensions?

We will be starting Bigger in January when ds is 8 1/2, and praise to God, it looks like he will be reading or close to reading the Emerging Reader set by that time. I'm so thankful. DS has dyslexia, and although I was scared, I felt this pull in my heart to switch reading programs with ds, and now ...

Re: Bigger Hearts & dyslexia

Hi Mikki, My son just turned 8 in June, and he is severely dyslexic. We will be starting Bigger in January and probably going half speed, because I don't want him to get to the next guide too early. I can't wait to start Bigger. I have the guide already, and I don't see anything in the guide that wo...

Re: DD still not reading well, need suggestions

I haven't used All About Reading personally, but I'm am familar with a few different multi-sensory programs, and AAR looks good from what I can see from the samples. I'm using a program right now that is similar to AAR called ABeCeDarian, and it is awesome. My son's fluency picked up immediately, an...

Re: Scheduling Help

Thanks Kathleen. Yes, I could do Brayden and Bryce together, but it does make me crazy. :D LOL. I realized I have cursive and copywork in their. I will only be doing one or the other, so I think I'll take that time slot and add it to LHFHG. Thanks!

Re: OT: Age of child at graduation

All three of my children have June birthdays, so I know how you feel. It took me awhile to get out of the mindset of the ps school system. Now, I just go with whatever guide matches best with their ability. We are on on a crazy schedule of January - December, but it works best for my ds. DS just tur...

Cheerful Cursive Sample

I've been using HWT for print, and now I can't find my cursive book, so I'm considering switching to Cheerful Cursive. Does anyone have a sample of a lesson that they could post. I can't find any samples online.

Thanks,
Tracy

I'm getting excited. This is an awesome thread. I love the idea of pinning it also. Julie, do you have any previous pictures of getting ready for Beyond?
