Re: Question about Extensions:
Personally, I'd go by ability. :) If he needs them, then add them in. If not, then don't worry about it, at least not until Dec. As far as high school goes, there was just an interesting thread on using the extensions instead of the basic books in high school, if you find yourself constrained by the...

Re: MTMM question with high school level on packages
So, then, this has me thinking... My oldest ds is entering high school in August. He will likely just do all of the reading, as he is an avid reader. But this thread has me wondering--could/should he use the extension books and their assignments as his main notebooking component? Could he use the in...

Re: which guide and/or resources are your favorites?
That's a tough one. :) We did Bigger and RTR this year. Before this year, I would have said that Preparing was our all-time favorite guide, but now....I think it's a tie between Preparing and RTR, although Bigger sure was a lot of fun..... :D As far as favorite books...wow, I don't think I have that...

Re: 13 yo having difficulty with CTC extensions
I would likely drop them as well. The idea behind the extensions is to add to the content for those children who need it. I would say that if he is struggling with the extensions, he probably doesn't fit into the category of "needing" them.

Re: Sneak Peeks for Revival to Revolution?
momtofive, Just popping in to say that my oldest son will soon be finishing up RTR, and he absolutely LOVED this year. He says it's even better than CTC. He will be entering high school next year, and I had originally thought I would need to look elsewhere because he's on the upper end of the age ra...

Re: Rev to Rev for a High School Sophomore
Looks good to me. :) In fact, it looks almost identical to what my ds will be doing for his Freshman year next year. :D His will look like this: Rev to Rev w/extension and state study (sub in some higher level books) - 1 credit History Physical Science in Rev to Rev - 1 credit Science HOD Worldview ...

Re: High School Biology - input desired
Thanks for the update, Carrie! Definitely food for thought.
ps--I'm hoping that Biology is scheduled in the Geography guide--that way I get to follow your schedule instead of coming up with my own!

Re: So I'll do the dirty deed.....
Look at an HOD post. Hover your mouse over the upper right hand side of the post and a little arrow will appear. Click on the arrow, and it will give you the option to click on "all updates."

Check how you are "subscribed" to HOD. I think the auto-subscribe is "most updates" instead of "all updates." Might help. Just a thought.

Re: Those with High School Experience
Which guide were you wanting to use? Will next year be your son's 9th grade year? If so, then you could do something like the following without too much tweaking at all. :) For the guide Revival to Reformation, you could use the extensions and give at least .5 credits in American history (we will gi...
