Sometimes ya just have to laugh...

To begin this post I must sort of thank water2wine for commenting that there was a post on the HSR board that was not exactly HOD supportive (that is not how she said it, but you get the idea). I, being the person who can't stay away from a bad train wreck, had to go look at it. At first I became a ...

Re: Sign Language Fun

What a great way to teach! I am an interpreter, and before I had my kids, I worked in the school system. Tomorrow I am starting a sign language class for a local school as an after school program. It is such a great thing to know. I am sure you and your daughter will find that you notice a lot more ...

Re: Globe

I got my globe at Wal Mart. Unfortunately it fell off its axis shortly after we bought it. But, we can now sing, "I've got the whole world in my hands"! The ones at Wal-Mart are less than $15, and would probably survive in a normal family. I have looked at school supply stores, and they have them, b...

Re: Need Advice for Son with fine Motor Issues

I know exactly where you are coming from on this. My oldest ds has fine motor skills issues. He is 8 now, has been through a year of occupational therapy, and still struggles with writing. We do a lot of the motor skill practice mentioned above, and will continue to, but I also let him do a lot of w...

He is doing so well, that i am finding that we are having to skip over s...

a little update

Howdy ladies, Just wanted to come and give a little update after my post last week about struggling. Things are starting to go more smoothly. Nathanael is settling in, and though there is still some moments of difficulty, we are finding what works for us. We are doing SOS still, but at a much slower...

Re: OT- I am having a "STRAW" day

Hey Jessi, I wish I had some great words for you to help put everything in perspective, but I don't. I have some of the same issues with a second shift husband, and feeling like you are doing it by yourself. My heart goes out to you. Although I have no words of wisdom, I will definitely pray for you.

Re: Struggling....

Carrie, please don't feel bad. I know that you know so much about this, and your experience is appreciated. I have stepped back the last couple of days, and tried to re evaluate what I need to do. I had to have some oral surgery (nothing major) yesterday, and so I used that day to kind of think abou...

Re: Struggling....

Thanks so much for your suggestions. I will try to clarify where we are since I was not clear when I wrote before. My oldest son (who is 8) is in Beyond. My middle son is almost 5 and we are coasting along in LTHT. I then have a 2 year old also. Nathanael (my oldest) has a very hard time writing, so...

Struggling....

Hey everyone, This is a little off topic I guess, but I just wanted you women to pray for me. I am really struggling right now, and I am not sure I can put my finger on why. I started Beyond and LHTH back at the end of the school year, hoping to go through the summer with my 2 boys. As summer got bu...

thanks for helping me help someone else...

Well, here I am again. It has been awhile since I wrote---again. Summer has been hectic, and I am looking forward to having a routine again, although I am going to be busy. I am going to be teaching at least one and possible up to 2 or 3 sign language classes during the fall, and I am praying that G...

There are no right words to say. I have been there also, and reading your post reminded me of the array of thoughts and feelings I felt during that time. My heart goes out to you, and I will be praying for you. God is so good to give us peace that passes understanding.

what HOD has done for me

Just wanted to let you know how HOD has changed my life. I first must confess my addiction to all things school and curriculum related. My dh cringes at the site of the school supply aisle at the local wal-mart, as our buggy is automatically drawn there. My email account is always stuffed with count...
