Prioritizing school/outside activities - advice?
As I look toward starting our first "official" homeschooling year (K) in the fall, I realize that I'm going to need to really pray over and use wisdom in determing what outside activities we're going to be involved in. Even though we've been homeschooling for preschool the last two years using Littl...

Re: Kind of a silly question....
I don't have the answer, but I'm also interested in what people have to share b/c I'm schooling in NY where we need to report days AND hours.

Re: Ok Girls, what are you thinking about doing NEXT year!
Ben will be starting K using LHFHG (with Singapore K, ARFHW A, Thinking Skills, First Reader and ETC) and Sam will start LHTH "for real" on his own - no more tagging along with big brother.

Re: Schedules and Year Round Schooling?
I'm just getting ready to start K in the fall with LHFHG. So far we've been using LHTH and so we don't have much of a "schedule" yet, but I knew I'd seen some threads that might help you so I went looking: http://www.heartofdakota.com/board3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2093&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=Let%27s+Shar...

Re: LHTH question
We started LHTH when my oldest was 3.5 and when we finish up he'll be 5.5. Here's how we did it (not that I planned this when we started, but it's how we ended up doing it.) We've always had a few days of the week when we're out of the house (Bible Study, swim lessons, etc.). The first year we did L...

Re: Question about supplementary things for LHTH
We also like to watch Veggie Tales that go along with our Bible Lessons. (This week we'll be watching Daniel.) I also happened upon a little book called "Even The Soundwaves Obey Him". If you have kiddos that loves science like my little guys, this book has very simple science experiments that go al...

LHFHG - Bible question
Just looking ahead to the fall and what I need to still purchase for Little Hearts. I'm looking specifically at the Bible right now and wondering if I should purchase one of the recommended Bibles or just use one of the MANY that we already have at home. We have quite a few Bible Story books and als...

Re: How much time do you spend planning/preparing lessons?
Using LHTH - on a good day when I'm trying to be really organized, I might spend 5 minutes the night before looking through the next day and gathering what I need all in one place. Much of the time though, just like the others, it's open and go.

Re: Has anyone done four programs at once?
I can't answer the question about four programs at once, but I did want to pop in and let you know what I'm doing with my two little guys b/c it echoes what Carrie suggested for you. I'm going through LHTH with my 5 yo and 3 yo and then adding in the right side of LHFHG for my 5 yo (using ARFHW K, S...

Re: Advice in changing my Kindergartner's program
Just wanted to chime in and mention what we are doing with our just-turned 5 yo ds. I knew he was ready for the Phonics/Math/Fine Motor sections of LHFHG, but wasn't sure if he would be able to handle the History/Read-aloud portion this year. So we decided to do LHTH and add in Do It Carefully/Findi...
