Re: Not finishing guide in HS ....what to do?

I think my 10th grader will take a year off and then attend a community college. My 9th grader is looking at going to a Tech school through the community college. Hope t...

Not finishing guide in HS ....what to do?
I have two in high school. Neither finished their guide this year for various reasons :( I really feel like we need to start fresh in the fall, but I don't know how to make sure I am being fair with the credits I give them. Can I have them watch some history documentaries to fill in what they missed...

Biology question
My child is doing the Biology instead of the science that comes with the WG guide. Do I have to buy the WH guide for that one box, or is it just a "do the next lesson" type of thing? I really don't want to buy the next guide, but I need to.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: World Geography books came....Yikes!
Thank you all! What wonderful encouragement. This morning I have worked through part of an actual day in the guide. First, I found it incredibly interesting! ( I wish I did this for high school :) Second, it seems to be broken down into doable chunks. I think I was just overwhelmed when I opened up ...

World Geography books came....Yikes!
Everything looks wonderful, but I'm a little worried it's going to be too much. For those of you who have used it, how long is it typically taking each day? I really don't want her to lose her love of learning because her school day is so long. I didn't even get the living library....and it still lo...

I don't think there are many changes in the guides that are already written, except maybe prices.

Re: How do you stay motivated?
I understand how you feel! I feel like I keep taking days off and I'm still burnt out! Yes, Exactly! We are taking spring break this year, though I don't think I've ever done it in the past, but my birthday is that week and my oldest will be finished with CTC right before that. It's just hard. The ...

How do you stay motivated?
At this time of year, I'm so ready to be done with school. How do you all stay motivated? I've been doing this a long time and it's always so hard. I'm finding the longer I'm at it, the harder it is. Anyone else struggle with this? How do you stay excited about school?

A little advice?
My son started Preparing a few weeks ago. He didn't have the science book, so now he is on Unit 3, except for the science. We now have the book, but I really don't want to back track. I want to start fresh on Monday in a new unit. What would you do? Just keep going or take time to go back and do the...

Re: About to give up, and send to PS
My heart goes out to you. I've been there/ still am there at times. Home schooling is a hard road! Having a large family is a hard road! Throw in a pregnancy and it just got harder. Sometimes I think, "Lord, I'm just not cut out for this....you've got the wrong person  " But I know deep down, i...
