...when your 3yo recites the LHFHG Bible verses perfectly! ...when your kids' best playtime is during the rotating box! (Working on this one!) ...when friends are struggling to get through school, although we've been done since before lunch! ...when kids "get" the Reformation! For starters... Thanks...

LHFHG and an independent reader
Hi everybody! I haven't written in a while...good news is that we are sailing along with LHFHG at a full-speed pace now. I pray we can get done with LHFHG by January, but with Daddy leaving in a month to go overseas for the remainder of the school year, I am building in time for off-days. I LOVE thi...

Re: Weekly Review: September 10-14
We had a great week in Unit 21 of LHFHG. We just have to finish the oceanic expeditioners to move on to Unit 22. In other words, we have the LH side of days 4 and 5 to go. I love the ease of use and focus of this curriculum. :) http://heidihovan.blogspot.com/#!/2012/09/lhfhg-unit-21-weekly-wrap-up.h...

Re: Week 8-27 to 8-31
Have a great couple of weeks, Tree House Academy! We just finished Unit 19 of LHFHG. I am rejoicing because we are up to a unit a week, in time to start a co-op on Fridays. So, we will begin 4-days this week, and if we don't have much going on Saturdays, my desire is to finish up a week on Saturdays...

Re: How do you keep from oversupplementing?
I honestly had to say "no" to extras, and I agree with Julie; sometimes those things are better left for after "school" is completed. How cool that your kids want to do extra stuff!

Re: Week 8-27 to 8-31
I just have to say I am so pleased with how our year is going and am grateful to God for smoothing our ride! Last year was our first year of homeschooling and I was schooling a very strong-willed Ker. This year, I have a different child. She is eager to please, and is working hard. We are in the mid...

Update and prayer request
Hi everyone! I haven't been on the boards for a while because just over a month ago I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. While it explains why I hadn't felt good for a while, it comes as a shock because I am pretty active and eat healthy foods. Type 1, though, is an autoimmune disorder in which the...

I got a diagnosis of diabetes over the weekend so I'm reeling from that. Meanwhile, Shana has completed Unit 17 of LHFHG, so we are bridging to first grade. God's good, and I'm doing ok.

Re: Military HOD Families
We are Army, stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf - Richardson in Anchorage, AK. I would consider taking at least some with you to cover your PCS. You don't know, with an OCONUS move, what could potentially happen with your HHG. Just saying! It will give your kids something to do, too.

How very cute, Kristin!!! We are finishing up Unit 17, about Jesus' ascension, Pentecost, and Great Commission; not in that order. :) I am calling the end of Unit 17 the end of Kindergarten. We are going to continue to work slowly over the course of the summer to progress into first grade. Shana was...

Re: Feeling like the worst mom ever!
I thought I was the worst mom ever too!!! Are we all tied!? I think you recognize it and that is good. I also know Jesus's goal is for us to become Christlike. In love, and as I pull out the log in my own eye, you have just found your area for Christ to perfect. We can't do it on our own. We need Ch...
