Re: Singapore 3A/3B - should I buy the textbooks?
I bought the textbooks for 3A/3B because I needed to learn how to teach the Singapore way. The material in this level is easy to teach so the textbooks aren't necessary if mom is okay with math. I still recommend the textbooks bc it provides reviews and practice pages as well as examples to use whil...

Re: What to do with a young 4 year old after LHTH?
What Bible and devotion are you using? If you are using the younger one, I would go back through LHTH and add in a little more handwriting and math and start phonics. This is what I have planned for my kids. I am just going to buy a couple of the big workbooks you can get at places like Costco as w...

What to do with a young 4 year old after LHTH?
I am thinking ahead here. My daughter will turn 4 at the beginning of next school year. She is ambitiously plugging through LHTH and begging for it. If she finishes LHTH this school year, what will she do for PreK as a 4 year old? Thanks!

Loving LHTH!
We just began LHTH with our newly turned 3 year old and it is such a sweet program!! She loves having her very own big girl school as the older kids work independently. It is sweet, simple to implement, and cherishes the little child's heart and ability. We are having a lot of fun! Thanks HOD for ma...

Re: Another DITHOR Question...Please help me figure this out
Thanks for the info! I'm outside of the return window, as I purchased it in June. I will have to buy another 4/5 book. Plus, I filled out the calendar page so I probably couldn't exchange it anyway.
Your response was very helpful! Thanks a ton!

Another DITHOR Question...Please help me figure this out
Edited to delete my venting  . I purchased the 5/6 Boy's DITHOR book package and placed a neon sticky on each book displaying the genre. I planned to use the 4/5 student book for my young 5th grader. I have the 6/7/8 student book for my 6th grader. It is our first time using DITHOR. Here are th...

Re: DITHOR
Thanks for checking! I wasn't sure because we aren't using the upper level HOD guides. Three days per week would be very feasible. I cringed at the thought of doing it 5 days per week, every week, for the entire school year

Re: Tell me I'm not the only one with a strong-willed child!
You've already gotten some great advice :D but I'd like to throw in a tidbit. Strong-willed does not equate to disobedience. Your dear child may indeed be strong-willed; whew do I have one of those  ...but it sounds like there is also an obedience issue at hand that needs to be addressed. My so...

DITHOR
We are using DITHOR 4/5 and 6/7/8. How long does each lesson take? I'm thinking I will split each student book into 2 years versus 1 year because we will already have lots of reading from other sources. How did you split the assignments if you used it for multiple years?
TIA!
TIA!

Re: Singapore Math?
He really has his heart on MIT. Imagine my shock when he presented his plans to me. He is very serious about it. He took two science classes plus a chem lab (for 12-15 yr olds) last year. And yes, things could change ;-).. Either way, like you said, it is most important to make sure the foundation i...

Re: Singapore Math?
Thanks everyone! StephanieU, I totally get what you mean! I am always surprised by the number of adults that don't know fractions. As for the calculus comment I made earlier, the schools my son loves require calculus in high school in order to do certain majors or to just get in. My son researched i...
