Re: My children and I love HOD

Thanks for sharing!! Such a beautiful snippet into your homeschool with HOD :D ! I can't wait to get to the World Geography guide! My oldest is in CTC so it's still a little ways away but you've given me much to look forward to :) .

Finished our 1st DITHOR unit!

We began DITHOR before beginning HOD as a core and we just finished our first unit (mystery)! DITHOR stretched my kids without frustrating them. It challenged them just right. They were not use to that level of thinking so it took some getting use to but they did it! My son went over all the pages h...

Re: AHHH! Still don't know if I should order Beyond or LHFHG

You are not the first person to have to place more than one order. I bet there are multiple posters that have ordered more than once per year. I know one personally. :) It is better to be confident and order twice and be out a little more shipping. Keep us posted as your year progresses. Enjoy! I t...

Re: AHHH! Still don't know if I should order Beyond or LHFHG

Thank you all so much! I think I am going to begin LHFHG with 1st grade option now and only use our current program for the character traits and science. I am supplementing it so much already....this should be a nice combo. Then we can go into Beyond strongly as a 6.5 year old instead of 5.5 years. ...

Re: SWITCHING FROM PUBLIC TO HOMESCHOOL IN 4TH GRADE

I did LHFHG with my son as a K4 program and he loved it (just reminded me this morning how he loved the science stuff we did - can't believe he remembers that!), but he really fought me with the reading and at the time, we decided homeschooling was not a good fit for us. He's been in public school ...

Re: AHHH! Still don't know if I should order Beyond or LHFHG

Thanks everyone! I'm probably going to buy both because it looks like the hands-on math for 1A-1B are in Beyond, as well as the emergent readers schedule. So that should go along easily with LHFHG w/1st grade option, right? :)

The Beauty of Correct Placement

Sorry for hogging the board but I am just too excited about beginning this journey with you all :D . My ds11 had such a hard time narrating with our previous program and it often ended in tears. He felt defeated and often made comments about not being smart. His self-confidence spiraled down the toi...

Re: AHHH! Still don't know if I should order Beyond or LHFHG

StephanieU, I wondered about that, too (the fun factor). LHFHG seems like a fun guide for little people. I don't want to push her and right now she is complaining that her current program is too easy, which makes it a hard decision. She will use the emergent readers soon so if we go with LHFHG/1st o...

Re: OMG!! IT IS HERE!! I WANT TO CRY LOL!

Thanks everyone :D . It's going very well! We are trying to find our groove and learn how to efficiently use the guide and going 1/2 speed for a couple of weeks was definitely a great idea. R&S English will take a little getting use to but it was a smart choice to switch to it bc Intermediate Langua...

AHHH! Still don't know if I should order Beyond or LHFHG!

I think I am making this harder than it needs to be :D . Here's my dilemma. My daughter will finish MFW K (a very beefed up version including "The Reading Lesson") by January. Currently, she places in Beyond so I was thinking to do Beyond for 1st grade. However, she will begin 1st in January instead...

OMG!! IT IS HERE!! I WANT TO CRY LOL!

I posted this on the HOD fb group but wanted to share my enthusiasm here as well. Here is my original message just before delivery (in my moment of freaking out  ): "My package will be here today and I am so nervous!! I hope it is everything I hoped it would be. Our last program was a disappoin...
