No - even if I type virtual it doesn't work as listed in the book.

but Candice - yours works.
How did you find it? What do you do when a link from the book is not longer active?

Link from CTC not working for unit13 day2
This link won't work for me. Where do we find "patches"?

Re: High School--Rev to Rev or Geography guide?
Hi Tiffani thanks for your insight. The bottom line is we just won't have enough time to do all the guides, unless DS stays in school an extra year. ;) My kids (with no excuses - it is just who we are) have not been ready to start CTC at grade 5. Because of the line up of ages, baby years, etc., I'v...

Re: High School--Rev to Rev or Geography guide?
Great thread.
As I have an 8th grader doing Rev to Rev, he too will not have enough years in school to do all the guides. I expect we will have to omit WG (which kills me b/c I am a Geography nut!).

Re: HOD crush
I can't say enough good things about Carrie's tie-ins of history, Bible, poetry, etc. It is just excellent. I love to ask my kids, "Why do you think she picked this poem (or memory verse) this week? How does it fit with the history?"

Re: CTC and English
We do R&S on our own with one lesson a day. I do not follow the guide recommendations. But - I will say my kiddos seem to have a strong command of the material (unlike math, let's say) and it is very comfortable. I hope to complete R&S 10 in grade 10 and then have them take English at the local comm...

Re: Feeling Discouraged...
I don't even do school with four-year-olds. When my kids show reading readiness, we go with that, but at four I just major on read-alouds and outings. I'd feel free to do just bits of the days. A four year old boy may really not have the stamina for a routine like this just yet. The Holy Spirit will...

Re: advice needed for how to "catch up" a five day unit plan
I see you have your answer, but I have to chime in that it drives me nuts to NOt have the units line up. I want school done in 35 weeks, no ifs-ands-or-buts! :) (True, you don't have to do all the units, but I don't like to miss stuff, either.) I easily do two days of history in one day if need be, ...

Re: Land Animals (CTC) help
Thanks, Lynn. :) I do realize this. But my kids have always had great command of the language piece and we just seem to move very comfortably through the books one year at a time. I do plan to slow down if/when they start to become challenged by it. It is rigorous! But I'VE learned more in the last ...

Re: Little Review on how CTC is going for us...
Thank you, Patty. ♥ Thankfully, his attitude is good. But the reality of making school happen with our current ages/real life issues, etc., is hard. For example - he can't do the skittle/colored paper experiment today because I couldn't get to the store this week to get candy. :*( We'll talk it thro...

Re: Little Review on how CTC is going for us...
HOD is not new to us. :) This is his sixth year. But he's one of six with two of them being little (3 years old and 6 months old). I'm not able to help him much at all and he is frustrated, in general, by large amounts of reading. He's grateful much of it is the Bible - he's comfortable with that pi...

Re: Land Animals (CTC) help
Thank you all - and thank YOU for the link! When my oldest did CTC it was a huge jump in workload and independence and we both noticed it. However, it's not his thing to cry about school. Pout, maybe. Cry. Nope. I can't imagine doing half-speed, though. To me that just means dragging the school year...

Re: Little Review on how CTC is going for us...
This is wonderful to hear. I'm glad it is working out well for her. Currenly, my 11 year old 6th grade son is taking a "break" from Unit 1 Day 1 of CTC. He is bright and a joyful person, to boot; but he was in tears over the work. It is a big step for him to be so independent and to step away from A...

Land Animals (CTC) help
I'm trying to find the sample module sheets from Zoology I as directed in Unit 1, Day 1 of CTC. Can anyone direct me, please?
[My son is in tears at amount of work. His name is Nigel, if you are lead to pray. I remember my older son just feeling swamped with the independence of this book, too.]

I'm preparing to order
and my research time has been cut shorter this year due to the arrival of a new baby (PTL). My oldest is going to start Rev to Rev for 8th grade and we are going to order the Exploration Education Advanced kit. I'm a bit overwhelmed with the price of it  and wondered if anyone can tell me if ...
