We could not get the history project work from lesson 34 day 2, but I found this that worked great, has a worksheet and has cute diving octopus ones too.

Re: Singapore and Review
I have used Sinagpore Math from the start and my son is now in the last book 6B. It has plenty of review going back over concepts in more detail each time. They may need some reminders early on, but I have found it to be the best math for my kids. My son is a year ahead and my daughter is a semester...

A big thank you to Carrie
This is my 2nd year with HOD. We did Bigger last year and are on Preparing this year with my kids, 2 years apart. I am so thankful to Carrie for all the hard work that went into writing this curriculum. Just today, as the kids were doing their scheduled quiet time I was praying for them, and it dawn...

Re: disrespect...need consequence ideas
It is good to read all these posts! My kids also do the whining thing now and then too, ages 8 and 10. I like Mom23's advice too. I do have and if/then chart that the kids worked on coming up with consequences to different infractions. They came up with "no screens" if they whine. So no tv or comput...

Re: Singapore Number Bonds
I have used Singapore before I ever found HOD and do love it. Since I wasn't using HOD, I used the Singapore textbooks too, which reinforces what Carrie has in the guides. We are now in 3rd and 6th grade for math! Number bonds continue throughout the grades and for my son he grasped the concept fair...

Re: I feel like a homeschool snob
Those verses were the encouragement that I was looking for! Thank you both!!! I am writing them on a 3x5. I don't like being negative, it has been a lifelong struggle. One of my verses is ..."do everything without complaining..." I am still a work in progress!

I feel like a homeschool snob
Hi all! Hope everyone had a great summer!! We did, and are starting with Preparing on Monday! :D I have a big pet peeve - and it is being put to the test!! I can't stand when people use incorrect grammar when speaking and writing! I am not an expert by any means, but simple differences between don't...

Re: questions about Preparing Hearts for His Glory
Thank you for this post and the link. I too am doing Preparing in the fall and really need to economize. Spreading out purchasing books that I can't get at the library for Story Time and Independent is the only way I can manage this year. I am very excited to teach PHFHG this year! Last year we did ...

Re: Preparing-Storytime box question
Thank you all for your responses. Looks like I will have to try my best to get these books. Once I order my guide and can see which books are scheduled when, I may have to buy them a couple at a time. I will check half.com, thanks for that suggestion!!
I appreciate all the help.
Thanks,

Preparing-Storytime box question
We finished our first year of HOD with Bigger and loved it! :D Now I can't wait to order Preparing for next year!! :P I do have a question as I am looking through the catalog. The section #7 Basic Package (page 44) of read-alouds says highly recommended unless you need to economize - which I do. If ...

Thank you, thank you, water2wine,
I have been stressing and I know that has stressed DD out too. It's time for mom to relax!
Again, I am so grateful for this message board. Don't know what I'd do without it!!!
