It's great to hear from someone who's been in both camps!

Re: Q,S ABOUT ART, HEALTH ETC IN BLHFHG

Health is a required subject in our state too. I've wondered if Carrie or Julie have thoughts or recommendations for that.

I'm happy with the art and music contained in the guides I've seen.

Re: The HOD booth was a hoppin' place...

I was wondering if any other HODies from the forum would be there! :D I am excited to go through my new CTC I brought home. And I'm very appreciative that Carrie and Julie made the trip!

I forgot to grab more catalogs though. Aaaaack!

Thanks for bringing it up! I had the same question since we are doing the Astronomy book this year also.

Re: Give your opinion: Science in future guides

I just want to say that I find it very helpful when Carrie gives the reasoning behind her curriculum choices/direction.

Re: School Area

Speaking from the experience of being home-schooled myself and now teaching my own, I think the most important thing about your school space is that you enjoy being there. It should be a room that you are naturally drawn to. If you choose a room based only on practicality and it is one that you don'...

Re: Routine, household, kids...help me tweak my days?

Babywise. Yes! Simplify, simplify, simplify. My family is smaller but even so, we don't have time for complicated meals, curriculum (yay for HoD), schedules. I buy only clothes that don't need ironing. :) The little ones don't have shoes or boots with laces. We do not have tons of toys. I use a brea...

Re: Bigger Timeline

We just started our first year of HoD this week, and I came on here to see if I could find a visual for how the timeline was to look. Thanks for the pics and links! I used Daisy's templates and tri-fold idea. Thought I'd bump this for others.

Bigger Hearts and DITHOR

I'm planning on using Bigger Hearts this coming year and possibly adding DITHOR. My questions are: How is DITHOR scheduled into Bigger's Teacher's Guide? And is it to be used in addition to "Storytime?" If so, do you then need a package of books for each?

Question about extensions

Hi, I'm new here and am seriously thinking about trying HoD for my 8yo DS next year. I tried Sonlight this past year and while I liked the books, I did not like the schedule/TM. I was going to write off all "boxed" curricula. . . until I heard about HoD. Anyway, I'm thinking about doing Bigger Heart...
