Re: Beyond with a 3rd Grader
Thank you, Kristen! That is so helpful to me. The handwriting/notebooking is one of my concerns in regards to putting him in Biggers. I also think that the history in Beyond would help him to better understand the history in Bigger Hearts. I'm probably not expressing that very well. It seems like a ...

Re: Beyond with a 3rd Grader
Carrie, thank you! I am really struggling with this decision. I am praying about it alot. I just keep feeling like I'll need to add to Beyond to such an extent that I won't enjoy the simplicity that using HOD has provided me. He has loved Little Hearts but he has also really enjoyed the readings fro...

Re: Dissapointed with history book...???
The Eggleston book doesn't bother me. Columbus is such a controversial figure. There is ALOT of info. available about him but it seems that all of the writers have strong opinions about him, one way or the other. As far as his kindness, I don't doubt that was true at times. My issue with Columbus is...

Re: Beyond with a 3rd Grader
Thanks everyone! I really appreciate you taking the time to give me some feedback. I have spent some time over the last couple of days really looking at everything and praying about it. I noticed that I have almost every title from ALL of the genres for Storytime already! And, I think every genre ex...

Beyond with a 3rd Grader
Hello! I am wondering if any of you who have used Beyond with a mature 3rd grader could share with me how it went. My youngest son is using Little Hearts this year for 2nd grade. He uses the History, Bible, Storytime and whatever rotates through the Activity/Science/Dramatic Play box. He grew out of...

What about a Rabbit lapbook?? My son has been working on the Peter Rabbit lapbook from In the Hands of a Child. He has loved it. I noticed that they also have one entitled Rabbits.

Re: LOVE WHAT I SEE! - THANK YOU CARRIE!
I have prayed for just this kind of curriculum for a long time! I've finally found it! My oldest is going to be in CTC, my second son and oldest daughter will be in Beyond together, and my youngest two (girls) will both be doing LHTH. I can't begin to tell you all how excited and blessed and thrill...

Re: Question about CM vs. classical
I just wanted to hear from people familiar with HOD what their take on the difference between the 2 types would be. I have used MFW K, First Grade, Adventures and some of Exploring Countries and Cultures. I'm also very familiar with the other programs, having looked them over very thoroughly includ...

Re: confused bigger/beyond decision
(this is so embarrassing) Oh, don't be embarressed! You are in the right place. Once you have your little ones placed properly and get a few months behind you, you will be AMAZED at their progress. When we started HOD (this year), I found out that my oldest son needed more work in certain areas tha...

Re: List of questions to help me decide about CTC
Hi, Tracey! Welcome to the board! I haven't used CtC yet. We will be doing that next year. I just wanted to say Hi and Welcome! I have used three and a half years of MFW. I think it is a wonderful curriculum. This is my first year using HOD. It is a much better fit for our family. I really love it. ...

Re: Awesome customer service!
I've experienced similiar things... more than once!! HOD has the BEST customer service. I have ordered from many different suppliers and I have never been treated with this level of respect and care. Makes me feel important and I guess I like that .

Re: Wow, I am so impressed!
I agree! I was floored when I received my first HOD guide. There was so much more to it than I realized. I think the folks who think it's "light" just haven't placed their child in the proper guide or maybe they aren't completely "sold out" to the Charlotte Mason-flavor of the program.

Beth, Preparing really is a wonderful God-honoring program. The whole thing is a blessing. I pray you will be as blessed by it as we have been.
