Re: O/T - songs to sing solo in church

Oh and "Shout to the Lord" is a good one too that would do, contemporary and awesome for worship. Did this one w/ a friend about a year ago. Still love it!

Re: O/T - songs to sing solo in church

Have tried any of Sandi Patti's works? There are many beautiful songs that would fit the range you describe yourself as. "The More I Seek You" is another lovely piece (though I am not sure who the original artist on that). Definitely hit your local christian music /book store for performance tracks....

Re: Intro and Question

I can't really help as far as the to combine or not to combine question, but I will throw in a pitch for CTC. :D My dd has been working through CTC this year, and even though we've gotten behind in my schedule, one thing is for sure..she is still loving the work of CTC :D :D She has steadily been bu...

Re: Using HOD for high school?

Hi, I am definitely wanting to use HOD for highschool for my oldest dd. My husband and I have actually figured out how to make that happen. Over these past few months I have begun to truly appreciate HOD and the teaching tools Carrie gives through the curriculum. I love the flexibility of the progra...

Re: Week-In Review 3-29-10 to 4-2-10

We managed 2 days of unit 17 of CTC this week. I turned my dd loose in the kitchen again this week. Kasey really enjoyed baking the cookies filled with perserves. I love the fact that she is gaining confidence in the kitchen. We took the cookies to church for Easter morning, and they were a hit! We ...

Re: When you get behind

I agree with Mom2Monkeys and tjswaine... Don't sweat it.. Currently we are doing CTC.. due to my mom's health issues our school days have slowed down to a half-speed crawl. We manage to do maybe 2 days out of the 4 days each week. We start with i.e. day 1 and work left to right..then whatever is not...

Hi all! 1st Mom4Him>>>LOVE the pics of your girls doing LHTH! So inspiring! I can't wait for my own Tiffy to be able to dig into LHTH like yours are. Right now we are just doing little parts of LHTH (sometimes modified) at a time maybe just once or twice a week. Today I chose the color pink as the c...

Re: displaying art/school work

I found the scrapbook at Micheals, one of those clearance table items :D Its roughly 12 x 12 inches with sleeve inserts. At present all I do is slip her finished painting in the sleeve as is. For watercolor paints we are using the Canson watercolor paper, its the cheaper end, but perfect for beginne...

Re: displaying art/school work

With Kasey doing paintings with the poetry in CTC, I purchased a scrapbook that has sleeve type inserts. The book is proving to be a lovely coffetable/center piece. The art work stays protected and can be showcased without having to dig through the ole file folders. She's currently working on detail...

Re: BOB books?

:!: :!: :D :D :!: :!: BOB BOOKS LOVE BOB BOOKS :!: :!: :D :D :!: :!: Ok...that being said.... Bob books are wonderfully simple and short. They are just little books that introduce letter, letter sounds, then progresses into higher phonics. They do pair nicely with phonic lessons. I taught Kasey how ...

Hi all! I'm sorry we haven't posted in a while. Its good to be able to find the time again to post our adventures of the week. Its been slow, but we are slowly picking up speed again as God has seen us through a personal storm. We are now working through week 16 of CTC. This past week brought some w...

Re: OT UPDATE: Please Join Me in Praying for DD8

So awesome to hear good news! Was wondering though... do you have a WII? Maybe she could play some of the "sports" that use the board. Or, perhaps, you could do maybe Tia-Chi?, its low impact, very slow methodical type karate, or even a yoga class? Swimming would be awesome because of the low impact...
