Re: Cursive or Manuscript for Kindergarten?

With my little ones, they all learned manuscript first. Then they will learn cursive when they are ready for it.

Re: /doing three programs?

Next year I may be doing three next year. My five year old daughter will do Little Hearts For His Glory, my son will be using Beyond Littel Hearts For His Glory and it looks like I will be doing CTC with my ten year old. Right now I am using LIttle Hearts For His Glory with my son, now five and Prep...

Re: Writing question???

I don't use R&S (will for next year) but I don't add any extra writing. My daughter doing Preparing gets enough writing with that, she isn't big on writing to begin with. I am not too concern yet because when she is on her own she writes up creative stories for herself and everyone in the family.

Re: 4 1/2 year old having hard time with kindergarten program

I 'dropped' my 4 1/2 year old from school. She is no longer part of LHFHG. With constint pushing she can be but it's more work and I want our 'homeschool' to be enjoyable not fighting. I have since sold my Little Hands because she does knows the book but just isn't ready to move on yet as much as I ...

Re: LHFHG-Do you repeat lessons or move on?

My DD, 4 1/2, doesn't know how to write all her numbers properly either and she is tagging along with her brother in Little Hearts. I don't repeat lessons because she is just 4 years old. She gets the counting and the numbers that go with the counting so for me that is fine. In time her writing will...

Re: Little Hearts over two years?

I have started Little Hearts with my 4.5 year old but have stopped. I just do Little Hearts with my 5.5 year old and she tags along when she wants to. She is ready for some of it but not for all of it. She just isn't ready to sit and do offical schooling. Next year she will be ready for all of Littl...

Re: The whole girl verses boy issue

He's 5 and never been in school. HOD has been most of our curriculum but also have other stuff laying around. He is a get it done and over with kind of boy. So different from my girls. Even with Awanas, he was dead set on learning just two lines of his verse instead of all 5. He did the two and woul...

The whole girl verses boy issue

Has anyone noticed if your girls enjoy the guides more than the boys? My oldest enjoys HOD and I can see that my youngest will enjoy it as well. When the youngest daugther joins in. My son isn't into that arts and movements like his younger sister. We are going to finish this guide because his siste...

Re: Unit 2 - our art didn't work, help!

I remember that art box. It didn't work out for us either. I ended up drawing fish with a white crayon and painting with watercolors. I included my little ones in on the art project.

Week In Review September 4, 2009

I guess I am the first to post for the week. Week four has come and gone in my house. We have not completed Unit 3. We are a few pages away but we are off camping. Only have another month before the campgrounds close for the season. Here is the link to my week in review. I have written about our day...

My 9 year prefers to read all of her books by herself or out loud. I read the other stuff to my Kers.
