Welcome! I am just starting my second year of homeschooling. I have been married almost 8 years and have 3 boys. Bryce 5, Micah 3, and Matthew 1. We did Little Hearts last year and we had lots of fun. I agree with Mary to take a few minutes the night before to prepare. It is nice to know when you ha...

I know for my son he complains unless it was his idea. With handwriting it didn't work or us either. I just wrote on lined paper an he copied. ...

Yes this means that you will be doing two programs - each taking 3-4 hours independently. However, starting in Preparing there are activities scheduled as independent. So you will not be doing direct teaching for the entire time for both programs. I am already finding that my son can work independan...

Reading Out Loud vs Independant Reading
My dilemma, Bryce is no longer wanting to read out loud. He has told me that he would rather read books to himself. He reads fluently, with decent inflection. He is very capable of reading independantly and comprehending what he has read. We are still working through the emergent reader books. He pr...

Yes you can use the library for the read aloud books. The main concern is if you will finish in the amount of time that you can have the book out. For us it is 3 weeks. I use the Library for some of our books and then purchase the ones I know all 3 of my boys will use, for example, the emergent read...

Welcome Kelly, We are just finishing up LHFHG. I also think that your son will tag along on many aspects of the program. My middle ds did - he wants to do school whenever big brother is. He is welcome to sit with us while we read history or story time but has to sit quietly or he is welcome to go pl...
