I haven't posted any updates for a couple of months, so I thought I'd just share a few photos from over that time.
When DS drew his war elephant with Hannibal, our then-3yo decided to draw one too.

We don't really do breaks either, but I will often have DS "run around the house three times" between boxes.

A good place to start would be reading the links on Singapore in the "Reasons behind HoD's choices" thread, if you haven't already.

Is it possible that she is placed wrongly? I had the same experience early this schoolyear with my DS. We backed up a level, and it made all the difference in the world. I was about to bail on Singapore too.

Re: OT Snacking...
We don't do snacks much because I find that they don't eat their meals as well, either because they're not hungry or they figure they can snack later if they don't like what's on the menu. Plus it can be one more distraction or mess to clean up if the timing isn't good. I do offer snacks if I know t...

Re: MACHE conference in Duluth
Julie, I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself "properly!" I'll have to put my username on my nametag next time. Thank you for packing up my books for me. You guys did a great job staying gracious and helpful throughout the hectic weekend. It was so busy it looked like you could have used a clone each. ...

It was a delight to meet Laurie, see Carrie and Julie, and get my "stuff" for next year! Here is a photo of the HoD booth during one of the quieter moments. (Carrie and Julie were kept so busy!) It isn't the greatest quality; we took it on the cell phone.

It sounds like your older son is ready to go, so starting with Bigger on Monday sounds like a great idea. :D How about just start there for a bit and get used to that one guide? What are you doing now for school for your 5 and 7 year old? I'm thinking that in a few months, your dd might be ready fo...

We have put everything into one big binder with tabs dividing it. This year the history notebook is in its own separate binder.

And the other side of the dining room with the "school wall;" where we keep the calendar, markerboard, timeline, etc. The top three drawers of the hutch also hold school materials. On top is our Waldorfy "nature table." Sorry about the multiple posts! I haven't figured out how to insert descriptions...
