Re: Notebooking in Beyond...
I also love the Miller pads. I like that they have the different grade level papers. We are doing BLHFHG and this is what we do. 1. We use a "Miller's Picture Story Book" for the art projects and write part or the memory verse or another sentence on the lines and paste the art work on the back of th...

Re: Very New to This and I have Questions Please : )
A great welcome also from me. I think it is a blessing from God for those who happen to "stumble" across HOD. I did that, now realizing that it was the leading of the Holy Spirit. I have been tremendously blessed knowing that Carrie and Julie take there time to pray about the curriculum to use, they...

Re: Question about supplementary things for LHTH
I should have added the website where you can print out the whole alphabet
http://www.dltk-teach.com/alphabuddies/index.html
I hope that it's o.k. to put other websites on the board.

Re: Question about supplementary things for LHTH
I added things to each letter that started with the letter and hung them up for reference. For instance corn on C. So they just have to look at what's on the letter and they have the visual. To help them know the sound of the letter. There is something to it, to do it yourself and see it displayed! ...

Re: Good Morning!
I was very blessed by reading your year comparisons from last year and this year in using curriculum. I have had some of the same experiences wanting to branch out and using other curriculum and doing it myself. Now I am resting in the fact that I really really love HOD and doing unit studies. It ju...

Re: Make me like Singapore!!! :)
Bigger has the Math Explorations for 2A/2B, so you just have to get the workbooks for them and follow along with the schedule that Carrie has.
You would get the US editon workbooks.
I hope this helps!

Re: Make me like Singapore!!! :)
Carrie, Jumping in on this, am I understanding that the drill is not as important until 2nd or 3rd grade? I have not done any drill yet and I am on unit 6 in BLHFHG, using 1A/1B. I was planning on doing drill for addition facts as I we just jumped into learning subtraction now. He knows most of his ...

Re: Make me like Singapore!!! :)
There is a Textbook for 1A/1B Primary Mathematics, however Carrie does the "Textbook" (Math Explorations) part for Prim. Math 1A/1B in Beyond Little Hearts BLHFHG. She has very fun and retainable activities. My son loves them since it's usually a snack item that we use! So if you have the BLHFHG man...

Re: Make me like Singapore!!! :)
Thank you so much for your very well stated, well informed review on Singapore. I have been reluctant as well, but the more I have read and the more I work with it the more I am starting to enjoy teaching it! My son loves it and is doing great with it. Using 2 math programs is going to be too much s...

Re: R & S w/Beyond?
I am also doing Beyond and Carrie has a box with Grammar introduction once a week. It's in the Language art section. R&S 2 is not recommended until you get to Bigger Hearts. The Grammar introductions are gentle and fun and not necessarily for mastering in the Beyond Manual.
Hope this helps you!

Re: draw and write through history
I am glad that you research all the programs and that you carefully weigh what to put in the guides. I will continue to pray for you and I keep adding to the list as I see the great responsibility on your shoulders, because so many depend on the skills the Lord has given you to write these guides an...

Re: How many days in HFHTT?
I am hoping that it's the plan! I would love to do 4 days, but I don't much like the idea of doing a unit in 2 weeks. I like the 5 days per unit to be in 1 week (that's just my personal preference and it's a bit much to cram it all in 4 days at this point).

Re: Singapore Math Question...
You ladies make me feel better. I am about to order 2 sets for my already born children so that I am sure to have them on hand. I also know that Carrie will adjust the Math Exploration accordingly and find a great substitute and that it will work just as well. However I'd rather not have to change w...
