Re: Help put my mind at ease with Singapore
I had the exact same issues with singapore. We started with the singapore in K and because of the lack of review ect. I felt dd was not getting it. I, like you, so much respect Carrie and her opinions as well, but for our family singapore just did not work, but...Carrie did make the program to be fl...

Re: What MATH program do you use with HOD?
We do LHFHG, and I like many moms, I don't have great math skills either. We began using singapore, but DD just was not getting it. She needed what another mom said.... some more "hand holding" type math, so we have been doing Rightstart Math, which I feel is more what she needed to make the connect...

I'm sure I've given way more info than you were asking for- I find that my hobby, job, and passions are all the same-- teaching my kids! So easy to talk about :) Mom2Monkeys, Actually I don't think there is any such thing as giving me to much info! You are a sister after my own heart, my passions, ...

Had to say I am so Thankful for HOD!!
I just had to say on my list of things I am "Thankful" for is Hod! I was working in the kitchen this morning getting somethings ready for our Thansgiving feast, and although we have taken this week off, I thought how great that after the holidays, we get to go back to our "beloved curriculum"! Re: Is it enough???
If I may interject one more thought on this topic, Charlotte Mason said she believed that one third of education is atmosphere as she so beautifully stated: "Ideas are held in that thought environment which surrounds the child as an atmosphere, in which he breathes in unconscioius ideas of right liv...
