Re: We LOVE HOD!
We got our Preparing stuff this week too! We start on Monday. My son said the same thing about one of the read alouds. He said when can I read this? I said right now if you want to. I'll find another suitable read aloud for the book. He's been a reluctant reader so this thrilled me to no end. ...

Re: Brain Dead on Grammar
Florence, I can understand how you are feeling right now. I have some of the same issues with my 11 year old son. He just has problems retaining math and grammar. He needs very small incremental lessons and then for days or even weeks he has to work with those principals. He also can't just talk abo...

Re: dd11 struggles with comprehension--advice?
This is a great thread! This is also the very reason I am having my son start Preparing right now and do it through summer too. I wanted to give him an easier lead into CTC in the fall. More time for us to work through the growing pains  I'm bookmarking this thread to come back to when I forge...

Re: LHFHG half speed...How?
Just wanted to post and thank those that gave me recommendations on how to do LHFHG half speed. I have the guide and I'm going to spend some time really looking through it so I'll know what books to pick up at Convention in Memphis :D I had forgotten what a great family users of this board can be. T...

Re: Placing my order and yet...
Mandy, I can completely understand how you are feeling. I'm in a bit of the same situation. We spent $1000 on the curriculum we are using right now and I want to drop the history & science (and probably Bible) to do Preparing right now  It's hard to justify spending the money when I've alread...

Re: LHFHG half speed...How?
What Julie said :D But honestly I am wanting to go half speed because I am familiar with Beyond and Bigger and a decent amount of Preparing. I am aware of the skills taught in each level and don't want my son to be on the early side of the age range - even if he could handle it for the most part. I ...

I couldn't agree more! Way to go Mom for doing what was best for your son!

Sounds like he's going to love it!
All the best,

LHFHG half speed...How?
Those of you that have done LHFHG at half speed how did you do it? I want to do half speed with my almost 5 year old for his K and 1st year starting in the fall. I plan to do the appropriate levels of phonics and math each of those years. I was thinking I would just do left side one day, right side ...

DITHR scheduling quesitons?
I am about to start DITHR with my son and I have a question about scheduling. If I do DITHR 3 days a week is my son still doing his scheduled reading on the other 2 days? For example if we do DITHR M, W, F is he still supposed to be reading on T, Th? I'm trying to wrap my mind around this and just c...

Re: I should be on the payroll here! LOL
I know what you mean. I am running out of catalogs to give people and I was just thinking maybe I should call up and order some more along with a book I need LOL. I love HOD. I just blogged about next years plans and plugged HOD again. I think I will try to give a review soon too. I need to try to g...

Re: What MATH program do you use with HOD?
We have used BJU and we use Singapore right now using the lesson plans written in the manuals. My son had done some Singapore Early Bird books and I had tried to start him in 1A & 1B and I was lost so we went back to BJU. When I found HOD and saw that there were lesson plans written in them I couldn...

Libby, Thanks for the info. I wasn't clicking on the right link either. I clicked on the one you said below and I was able to open it. Thank you very much! I use the newest version of Firefox as well & it worked for me. However, when I first tried to download it I kept clicking on the wrong link. I ...

Ok I couldn't download it. It said I had to have an account or a browser that was compatible. I use Firefox. Do you think that might be the problem?
