I have just got to say thanks!!!

We have had a crazy few months going on here and my thoughts about school this summer went out the window. So while I intended starting LHFHG, we are still only on wk 8 of LHTH. But my 6yo ds and I just love this curriculum. The letter sounds stick in his head and it works so well for us. Before thi...

I had MFW K from previous kids and there were two weeks back to back on goat and cow. I could not think of anything fun to do with such a big empha...

cheese whiz--- no, it has dairy in it Marshmallow cream -- no, it has egg and if not, it has gelatin (I did not mention that he is also allergic to beef since I didn't expect to have beef sticks suggested  ) Most places will not specify pork or beef gelatin, so usually we just avoid all. There ...

Oh...thanks. I'll look into the crackers. He eats their bread. All I could think of were these crackers that we used to get that remind me of sponges. Now that you mention it, I do remember you saying that about the cow. I didn't have the book in front of me so I didn't make a mental note.

Can you help me sub some food related activities?

In one of my first posts, I mentioned that my ds has food allergies (peanut, tree nut, milk, egg, gluten). I am trying to plan ahead so I can figure out activities to sub for food related ones. The fist one is a wall of Jericho in LHTH -- I think I have found subs that I can use. But just wanted to ...

We have had so much fun this week!! Thank you so much!! If you want to see what we did this week in LHTH, go find my old blog and you can see the pics. Another option, but perhaps slightly longer than the Miller stories is "A Hive of Busy Bees" and the second book called "Another Hive of Busy Bees" The first one is by Effie Williams. I would assume that the second one is by her as well, but I am not sure. The first one is sold by Rod and Staff. The...

Did I do something wrong?!?!

We are on our 1st week of LHTH. It is awesome. :) I have one question.... The white crayon and paper and black paint activity...... We had to do this twice because it did not work. :( The second time I colored over his drawing and it worked better. Should it be thin paint? He is not much of a colore...

As a mother of 6dc, I don't think you can lay down a rule to apply to every child. My first three dc essentially taught themselves how to read. Yes, I did teach them, but especially my oldest....she had memorized books and put things together on her own. I tried a curriculum at age 4, but we got hal...

Thanks for your help.
I did see that on Amazon, they had excerpts of both books and I liked the ABC book a bit better.
I think he would find it more interesting. We'll see how it goes.
I got my LHTH today and I am so excited!!

My next question is....Which devotional for a 5yo?

The bookstore near me carries the Playtime devotionals, but it looks a bit young. I was thinking of going with the Big Thoughts for Little People book. Can someone tell me the difference between that book and the ABC Bible Verses book?

Thank you!! This helps. I didn't want to purchase it there if there was a more recent edition that they did not have. I know that LHTH is 2003. I didn't look at the dates for the other book, but I knew there was an insert included regarding a change in books. I would like to begin asap and I have cr...

copyright dates?

Can someone tell me the most current dates for LHFHG and LHTH? I was at a homeschool store and they have a new copy of LHTH, but the books listed in the book do not correspond to this website. :(

November isn't too bad. I could do that. :) I just returned from the homeschool store. I live just a few miles from one. I drove over and sat there and looked at both books. There are def some things that I will have to brainstorm on, but I think we will do it!! I also am thinking that it would be g...

Ok.... This really helps!! He turned 5 in Sept. Playdough is ok so far. He has been gf a long time, but it is not due to Celiac. He was never tested. He originally tested pos to wheat, but now tests neg. However, ingesting gluten gives him abdominal pain and intestinal issues and then he acts really...
