I recommend using Little Hearts for first grade, especially if they place just into Beyond. I used both Little Hearts and Beyond this year; I placed my kindergartner in Little Hearts (using K math and phonics) and my 2nd grader in Beyond (using emerging reader and math 2) based on the HOD placement ...

Correction; we use Little Hearts for His Glory, not Little Hands. I type faster than I can think sometimes, lol!

Your family is just like mine! This is our first year homeschooling, and those 3 guides are definitely possible! We have finished one week of school (I started early just in case!) Those are the same guides we chose for ours: Preparing for 4th grade (she is advanced, so we got the extension package)...

For science only reading and testing, I was referring to what she was doing in public school, not the CTC curriculum, sorry I didn't make that clear!

Thank you all for your responses, being new to homeschooling and jumping in to do three kids at a time can be quite overwhelming, lol! I have looked into as many of the books on both levels and can say she definitely could handle CTC, but my concern is science. Apparently they only read from a text,...
