Re: Our HOD is here and we are ready!

:D Thank you everyone! We tried to get our first day in today but due to doctor appointments we were not able to get a whole lot done. But I will say that my kids were, for the most part, excited to start HOD. My daughter (starting CTC) was excited to have independent boxes with things she can do/st...

Our HOD is here and we are ready!

We got our HOD box this week. I think I may have been more excited than the kids. Though they were climbing all over each other to open the box once they saw mama start to open it. We all sat there at the table looking through all the great books and awesome guides. I almost took the books away so t...

Re: Awaiting box day! Placed order!

:D It is great to hear how so many are enjoying the same guides that we will begin soon! Our box is scheduled to be here today! It feels like Christmas. Carrie, thank you so much for devoting so much of yourself, and family, to writing these wonderful guides. I am excited to soon be a HOD scho...

Awaiting box day! Placed order!

:D  I placed our order today!! Both the kids and I are very excited for our new "school" to arrive. I have been looking at HOD for nearly 6 months and have read just about every review and post I could find about HOD. I was very pleased to see so many positive reviews about HOD and honest...

Re: Question on Preparing to build English 2

I am currently using the Rod and Staff English 2 books with my 7 year old son. We have both the student book and the teachers book. Like farmfamily said it is a hard back book, not a workbook. We do most of it orally and only about 1/3 of it written. At this point the teachers book is not a must. It...

First week with Little Hands to Heaven

We just finished our first week with LHTH and we enjoyed it very much. Even my older kiddos enjoyed it. They joined in on all of the finger plays and Bible stories and wanted to be right there with Little Man (4 yrs) when he did his school work. Here is our first weekly post with Heart of Dakota htt...

Re: I'm so excited to start Beyond!

Awesome! We have just started Little HandsTo Heaven with my youngest and hope to start Beyond and Creation to Christ with my two older kiddos soon. I am excited as well. I love how God is part of the whole school day not just a separate block of time for Bible study. I think that is so important, es...

Re: Week of February 27 - March 2, 2012

We just finished our first week with Little Hands To Heaven with Little Man. (4 yrs) We had a great time. I was surprised how much my two older kids enjoyed the finger plays and activites as well. Each time Little Man and I went off to work on his school work, one or both of my older kids followed o...

Re: Bigger or Beyond?

Thanks everyone! After some reading these thoughts and someone thinking on my part I am leaning towards starting my son in Beyond. :) I think from what I have read here that starting him in Beyond will give him time to learn how HOD works and what will be expected of him and to give him the time nee...

Bigger or Beyond?

It's official, I am no longer a HOD stalker. I am now a member. I have spent a great deal of time looking into HOD via the catalog, website, and this amazing message board. I am so very pleased at what I see and the amount of wonderful support given to those with questions here on the message ...

Re: Questions about placemnt

I too have some of the same questions. I will be watching to see what advice you get. :D I am glad to hear I am not the only one who has gone through quite a few differnt curriculum choices. I feel like a curriculum junkie. But after "stalking" the HOD message boards and going over the catalog again...
