Re: Rev to Rev Science question/substitution question

Sorry for the delay in answering you!
I have found they don't add much to the day; maybe an extra 30 minutes or so overall. :)

Re: Picking a DITHOR level

good advice, blessedmomof4!
I always chose the "easier" workbook and the harder literature. so for instance my 12 year old is doing the 4/5 level but he will be reading books that are closer to a 7th grade level (which is his grade, technically)

Re: Rev to Rev Science question/substitution question

you would order both. :) The extension packs are in addition to the basics. We've done the extension packs with the other guides before. :)

Re: CTC Question

we haven't done CTC yet, but in all our previous years we've had a "language arts" notebook with sections for grammar, writing, dictation, and copywork. We used the 5-subject notebooks for the most part. :)

Re: wow-had a grand new idea!

that sounds wonderful! FWIW, we've always done the guides a bit on the younger end, too. For instance, my 13 year old will be doing creation to Christ with the extensions, and the 12 year old is doing preparing without the extensions. We are pretty relaxed around here, too, so we do a lot of unschoo...

Re: Preparing Encyclopedia Suggestions?

We are doing Preparing for the first time this year, so I don't have a BTDT answer, but we used to have access to an encyclopedia online through our library. (I think it was britanica, but I could be mistaken.) We had to log in through the library's website, but then it was full access. And free!

Re: Extra things made by you to ease your school day

I just hand my boys the teacher's guides! :D We used to use a weekly assignment sheet that was part of a package I bought many years ago called "the master planner" I would write the subject and they would check it off when they got it done. Although it ended up being more work for me-they started w...

LOL! yeah, I think it would be hard to get Stan to stop long enough to get a word in edgewise! Of course, if we would *just* move to Salisbury...
Thank you, Recumbent Heart! <3 I'm really looking forward to it. :)

Just Placed an ORDER!

I'm getting pumped for another year of HOD!!! I ordered Creation to Christ with extension pack for my 8th grader. :) I also got a couple workbooks for my 1st grader who will be doing LHFHG. (we started it last year, so it's kind of a continuation) So-for the upcoming school year, I have: Jesse (16, ...

Re: Our year bombed

Yes! I'm using little hearts for the 6 year old, beyond for the 8 year old, preparing for the 11 year old and I'm thinking of skipping the 13 yr old ahead to Resurrection to reformation. He's been doing (or not doing ) Preparing with the 11 year old. I was using r to r with the 16 year old, but...
